The AICPA is changing up AUD (again…) in 2014.

In light of the upcoming changes will you prefer to take AUD in 2013, or wait until 2014?

(If you need some background on this post see Jeff’s post: https://www.another71.com/2014-cpa-exam-changes-aud-clarity-standards/)

    REG - 78
    BEC - 79
    FAR - 71, 78
    AUD - 67, 85

To be honest @uconn the changes aren't drastic as people make them out to be. I took it and felt like the clarity update was very easy to understand and comprehend next to the old standards. '13 or '14, whatever year you take it, you'll still have to study just as much.

    FAR 02/21/13 - 95
    REG 07/02/13 - 87
    AUD 08/02/13 - 94
    BEC 08/30/13 - 85
    Ethics Exam - 90

I would *prefer* to take Audit in 2014 but I'm one of the “lucky” ones that gets to take it in 2013 (11 days from now actually) – so in theory I have to know both pre-clarity standards and post-clarity. Really though the standards are a big change in some ways but when it comes to a studying standpoint, studying both pre- and post-clarity together really doesn't feel that bad. The volume of material is probably roughly the same regardless – plus the clarity standards are pretty easy to understand

BEC: 73 (9/2014) 76 (2/2014) SO FAR SO GOOD! USED NINJA AND WILEY
FAR: Will take after tax season (can't wait)
REG: Cue overly dramatic impending-doom music (will take in 2014)

If the exam is taken in October, do you have to know both pre and post clarity?

Not sure if this have been asked, when (if at all) will the ninjas notes/audio reflect possible test changes to Aud.

Or should I just use the ore -change materials which is 2013.

@lilla…need your email again. Cannot find the thread you sent it in…reciprocal state license info.

I was kind of annoyed about this when first started to study for audit, but the differences are pretty negligible and minor in my opinion. I haven't had much trouble with questions on the old stuff from only studying the new stuff. In my opinion, its not something you should put much consideration into when scheduling your exam.

    FAR - 7/1/13 - 98
    AUD - 8/31/13 - 94
    BEC - 11/23/13 - 89
    REG - 1/13/14 - 86

Yeah, seriously, I can't even really see anything that has changed other than unqualified opinion changing to unmodified opinion.
