CROSS-POST FROM THREAD ON AMAZON.COM COMMENTS RE TEST BANK ERRORS

The Amazon posted errors were reviewed by Wiley Author, Ray O. Ray Whittington — CPA, PhD, CMA, CIA, Dean of the College of Commerce and Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University — and determined to be without error. See below.

MORE THAN HALF OF REPORTED ERRORS ARE ACTUALLY CORRECT

CPA practice questions, like the exam, often turn on nuances to that are not always easy to interpret. More than half of user reported errors submitted to us are actually not errors. But we do take all reports of errors seriously — and some questions do indeed require fixing. We recently established this Customer Service FAQ post to list all questions we have corrected for the 2012 Online Test Bank

    > The two NFP questions are not the same. One says not-for-profit Hospital and the other says For-Profit Hospital. They are fine.

    > I have sent PVA 0011 and IVES–0042 to Natalie but they look fine to me. Nothing wrong with them either.

And as @Jeff mentions — if you report an error and it's confirmed we'll give you some free Wiley product. Submit to testbankfeedback@wiley.com

I am actually referring to a question in the book, not in the test bank. Would the procedure be the same? Thanks 🙂

Here's the thread on it in case you're interested…

I looked through this thread, but I didn't see an answer about the missing Start button. I'm waiting on an answer from Wiley customer service, but I'd really like to study today and not wait. Does anyone know how to fix that problem on a PC? Thanks!

What “start button” are you referring to? I'm not sure where you are having issues.

When I say that, I mean the “Start Quiz” button once you choose your Practice test parameters. The Pop Quiz works fine for me, but the Practice Test is missing the Start button half the time.

It's intermittent which is really odd. I've been able to do a few, and the next time it doesn't work. Very frustrating.

Wiley got back to me. If anyone else has this problem with the Start Quiz button, it may be due to Internet Explorer 9. If you click on the ‘ripped page' icon on the top tool bar, it changes to compatibility view, you log back in, and it works correctly. Hours of missed studying for something so simple, ggrrr. I wish I would have known how to fix it. Back to studying!

REPLY RE ONLINE TEST BANK SIM 65

For FAR SIM 65, for fiscal years ending after 12/15/2011, the statement of changes in stockholders equity option has been eliminated for comprehensive income reporting. Therefore the answer in the test bank is correct.

    Original Question:

    FAR Simulation 65

It's a true or false sim and the first statement reads:

“1. Other comprehensive income may be presented in the statement of changes in stockholders' equity.”

The graded sim says this is false. I'm pretty sure that this is definitely true and one of the three ways that other comprehensive can be presented.

Maybe this has already been answered…. But does the new 2012 Wiley version not accurately keep track of time?!? Wen't 4 hours straight and its saying I've only been in the system for 2+ hours. Maybe it doesn't count time when you're reading the answers? Really just not a new fan of the new system….

My motto is… If it's not broke, DON'T FIX IT! 2011 was awesome

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    Hi @Peanut,

There was a previous question about the Timer we answered on a thread — but I can't find that post. In a nutshell, yes the timer “stops” after you select the first answer in an MCQ and also does not count transitional question loading time. The clock runs while you’re on the question. When the explanation pop-up pops up, the time stops (let’s you read time-free). When you close the explanation box, it starts again – if you are on the same question. So, if you keep trying again on the same question, the timer starts and stops as described. It only measures your time on the question. The clock also stops after you hit “next” and move to the next question until the page has loaded.
