RE POPUPS — click the Exclamation Point icon to turn them off/on, use “incorrect questions” report in My Reports to see why answers were wrong (and correct answer right)

RE OFFLINE PLAYER — it will be rolled out in May. (Or buy the iTunes app.)

    @ Wiley CPA Exam Review

Well we still want to see why we got a question right. The bad thing about the pop ups is that you have to click on the “x” to move on to the next question. We cant switch from a,b,c, and d to see all the explanations easily. It's more helpful to see why we got a question right/wrong as we do the questions instead of seeing it at the end on some report. That's the whole point of a “study session.” And why do we have to move on to the next question in order to see some sort of explanation? The 2011 was much more user friendly.

My REG subscription shows up in the new system, but not the BEC. I bought REG first, so it makes no sense.

I guess I need to call them.

    REG - 89
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 87
    AUD - 81
Used CPAexcel, Wiley Online Practice, and NINJA!

@ReneeNC please email pmilburn@wiley.com so I can look into the missing BEC section for you. If you purchased BEC in the last few days it's possible that you were not migrated. For phone, chat, email support you can use http://www.wiley.com/go/cpasupport

@misanthrope87 thanks for feedback. It's helpful and our product team is assessing the impact of what was changed and how it affects usability.

this is for jeff or wiley review, is there a way I could purchase 2011 REG??? My next exam is REG and if I cannot have the 2011 version i wont purchase it…. ditto towhat an earlier poster said “I want to see why the answer is right or wrong right away, not at the end on some report” the 2011 version was quick. Allowed me to do hundreds of AUD questions when I was preparing for it…. Now I canno't see myself doing as much questions in a day with the new version

As far as I know … The answer is no … My 2011 pins don't work any more.

The downside to trying to improve your product and add value is that sometimes there are bugs or oversights and you take feedback seriously and fix it.

Give Wiley credit for interacting with you on here and taking your feedback seriously. I'm sure they will come up with a solution.

I've been using the 2011 version the past couple of months and have really liked the study mode where a yellow box comes up after you select your answer letting you know if you got it right or wrong and why.

It appears that the 2012 version has that option but nothing comes up after I select an answer in the “practice mode” even after I check the box with the exclamation point. I'll try to get with their onlin chat service to see if it is a browser issue. I'll go back to the 2011 version in the meantime.

On another note, is there a good place to report issue with some of the test bank questions? There have been a few problems that I've come accross where the correct answer is say $95,000 but that isn't an option and when you get the solution it says the correct answer was $95,000 but the choices have it listed as $85,000 (probably a typo). I also had a sim where the individual numbers in the problem were correct and verified by the software but the total down at the bottom was off and didn't agree to the numbers that made it up.

    Thanks for the feedback Wiley.

Thanks for all the feedback. Keep it coming. We want you to have the best product possible so you can pass exam — but we do recognize users have different needs.

@dporter thanks for the feedback. Regarding the question please post the “question ID” (right side of question box) into a reply here and we'll look at it. If there is an error it will be fix in real time by our edit staff. The new test bank allows us to correct in real time.

CORRECT ANSWER POP UP AND SCORING

We did user testing that indicated users did not want the correct answer to be shown immediately after a user selected the answer. That is why it was changed. Regarding scoring the first selected answer vs. the final answer, is was different in the 2011 edition (where the first selected response was used). Some users who turn off the answer popups do go back and revise their answer choice and the change was made to address those users. That being said we will continue to listen as well as survey all current users via email to understand what works best for the most users.

    REPORTING BUGS/ERRORS

Please continue to report any issues to https://www.wiley.com/go/cpasupport — issues do get escalated to the product team.

    Issues I've seen.

    * It is not compatible with older browsers. Not all computers I have access to, have up-to-date browsers. At home, yes, Elsewhere, no. The 2011 version seems to work better. IE6 is one big browser I cannot use.

    * The java takes forever to load and sometimes causes my browser to freeze up. Once it loads, it seems to be pretty smooth if used on a compatible browser.

    * I'm currently studying REG and some of the tax forms in the sims do not have the automatically graded fields active. So I cannot tell which fields are the ones that the automatic grading is done on (i.e. no orange background fields) As a result, I have to self-grade. This does not accurately reflect the actual exam which is automatically graded for REG. I can understand self-grading for BEC because sometimes those are graded manually, but since REG is auto-graded and not manually graded, it should also do the same here.

    * I'd like to have a study mode on pop quizzes. Sometimes I just want to pound on MCQ's without having to do sims.

I appreciate Wiley's responding on this forum. Well done!

    haha – IE6.

I worked for a public company prior to jumping into another71 full time and they felt like IE6 was the ONLY secure browser…don't miss IE6 😉

Yeah, I know, I think it is because some companies want to discourage web surfing on company time. But they forget that some people like to surf during lunch break or before/after work.

@Wiley CPA Exam Review, is there any way you can get this to work with the Android Tablet (Kindle Fire)? The 2011 version worked great in the Dolphin HD Browser but now the 2012 version doesn't work – It keeps trying to install Java. The work around I used is to access my Home PC via the Team Viewer app with the kindle fire. It would be great if y'all had a Test Bank App for the Amazon App Market. Any chance of this happening?

BTW I like the new set-up. It makes me work harder to get the answers which is good. I'm not just sitting there memorizing the questions and answers.

    #339488

@skza07 yes but it will take a few months.

The 2012 MCQ content will roll out as follows:

Online Test Bank (Just released 1/27/12)

    iOS apps

    Android

The way the Kindle Fire handles Java means you'll probably have to continue using your (ingenious!) method for now.
