Why the CPA exam scores are so unpredictable?

I took AUD last Saturday and I don’t even know how I did! My first testlet was fairly easy, my second testlet was harder, and my third testlet was even harder. I know there is only two difficulty levels: medium difficult and difficult, so I can assume my first testlet was medium difficult and my second and third were difficult. So far so good. Feeling comfortable with the MCQs. Now, the SIMS were another story. It’s not that it was hard, it was just too ambiguous. I mean, I could not figure out what they were asking for. I think I answered only 50% of the SIMS correctly. The WCs were Ok. Now I don’t know if overall I did well enough to pass. How important are the SIMS?

I remember for FAR I totally bombed the SIMS and I was 90% sure I failed, but I passed. I also thought I would score on the mid 90s on BEC but I only scored 84.

It’s really hard to predict any results. When you think you failed, you pass; and when you think you nailed the exam, you really didn’t.

I should try not to think too much about it. I need full concentration for REG now.

    FAR - 79
    BEC - 84
    AUD - 89
    REG - 02/05

I understand how you feel! I think the MCQ on all of the exams saves me from failing. I'm anxiously waiting my AUD score.. I feel “okay” about the MCQ but it was so word tricky that I could have been choosing the incorrect answer. The SIMS were so-so. I know I got some wrong in there.

    Good Luck 🙂
