What I learned from Studying for AUD

I take my exam in less than 2 weeks (yikes!) Oct 4th to be exact.

After going through the entire Becker lecture, MCQ and Sims round one (completed today), I’ve learned it’s SO SO SO important to read the question in its ENTIRETY and also read ALL OF THE POSSIBLE ANSWERS! I can’t tell you how many silly mistakes I made by not reading everything 100% through.

Seems like common sense – but trust me when you think you know something and want to jump right to that answer that is when you need to pump the brakes and take a deep breath. Silly mistakes won’t get us a perfect 75!

    Wishing everything the best!

    REG: 80 (11/13/15)
    FAR: APR 2016
    BEC
    AUD

Yes – that is the key to AUD. Slow down, read the question, and make sure that the question you're answering is the question they're asking, and that the answer you're choosing is not just right, but best. I swear if I actually remembered that, then my practice scores would've been at least 10% higher overall! 😛 There'd be times that i'd get 40% on a practice session and know that for every single one i got wrong, it was because I didn't read carefully enough. Sooooooo frickin annoying.

Have any of you taken Audit yet? I'm wondering if the questions on the exam are as wordy/difficult as those in Becker or Wiley?

I've taken FAR and REG and passed both. I felt Becker questions were a pretty good representation of what you find on the exam, if not a tiny bit harder. I'm not sure about audit though

I felt like Audit was fairly similar to WTB – I don't use Becker, so don't know how similar that is. I scored better on the real exam than on my WTB practice, but I also was more careful on the real exam. 😛 All in all, I think WTB is a fairly good representation.

The Don, I haven't taken it yet…I take it Oct 4, but I have heard that Becker questions are harder than the actual exam. I took FAR and didn't pass but I def agreed that Becker questions were much hard (though the SIMS were def harder for me on the real exam).

@Laurie, I've learned a lot of stuff while studying for AUD but you're totally right. Read, read again, and if in doubt, read once more lol… I've been studying AUD for about 4 months (not including taking audit classes in college from Feb to May this year) and I still occasionally get messed up when answering some questions… especially the “which one of these answers is NOT” questions. I took AUD in August and you definitely have enough time to read each question/answer through slowly so don't feel like you have to constantly rush!

@The Don, I've only used Wiley and the questions on AUD are quite similar though I don't think any of them were the exact same. Wiley is good to use for practice practice though I felt the actual exam's questions were a bit harder on the whole.

    DELAWARE

AUD: 74 (7/2014) 76 (11/2014) PASSED! USED YAEGER AND NINJA
BEC: 73 (9/2014) 76 (2/2014) SO FAR SO GOOD! USED NINJA AND WILEY
FAR: Will take after tax season (can't wait)
REG: Cue overly dramatic impending-doom music (will take in 2014)
