Weaker in SIMS

I received (like many of you) my scores over the weekend, and was very discouraged to see a 71 for my Audit score. Today, I got my score report in an email, giving me the breakdown of each tested area.

In my multiple choice, I got comparable in 5 of the 6 sections and got stronger in the 6th area…my SIMS showed that I got weaker and thus is the obvious reason why I failed Audit.

In your experience, is this just a bad stroke of luck with my SIMS? I showed through the MCQ’s that I had an understanding of the material (enough to be comparable, 75-80) but my SIMS just weren’t up to par. Is it a matter of practicing more SIMS than I did the previous time? I’m just very confused after seeing that all areas of my multiple choice were either comparable or stronger…any insight is appreciated.

    FAR - (8/2012) 87
    BEC - (11/2012) 86
    REG - 73 (retake July 2013)
    AUD - 71 (retake April 2013)

My guess is that you got unlucky with the sims' subject matter, and lucky with the rest of the test. Do you remember if the sims were on topics you were shaky on?

In my experience on AUD, the sims can be broken down into a bunch of MCQs (each box you click on and have to select one of the choices is its own MCQ). That is more true for AUD than for FAR or REG. Given that, practicing AUD sims would have less return relative to more MCQs than would be the case in other sections.

    FAR 92 1/3/12
    AUD 93 2/2/12
    BEC 89 2/28/12
    REG 86 7/16/12

    Waiting on REG
