    Hi,

Im scheduled to take Audit Feb 25 and Ive been studying since around Jan 9. I have failed Audit back in 2011 and I have not studied or taken it since. Right now, I’m having some issues with Audit Evience and I’m really worried. I’m using CPAExcel, Lambrers, Audit Ninja Notes and I listen to Becker Lectures. I also have Wiley Test Bank and Becker (I know I have lots of material, which is overwhelming in its self because I really dont know what to use) but I wanted to use something new (I failed using Becker and Roger CPA). However, I’m having a hard time retaing all the information in Audit. I’m scoring around 65% on the questions I answer on most sections on my first attemt (Mainly in Internal Control and Audit Evidence). I learn more and gain a better understanding once I review the question and answers I go wrong. My practice is, I review every question and write the correct answer if I got it wrong. I study around 3.5 to 4 hours per day and around 10 hourd on the weekends. I’m really trying to stick to my schedule and keep things moving; but im not sure if that is the best thing to do. I really do not want to reschedule my exam because; I will have to take it in April, if I do so I think that would drag it out too long.

My question is should I move on to the next sction to make sure I cover all the material and drill the information during my final review or should I stay here and fully Master this area before I move to the next section???

    Thanks For Your Help 🙂

You certainly don't need any new information, you have a ton of it and studying the wrong review course is not your problem. I used the lambers review course and it is excellent for audit, the instructor does a great job of breaking down internal control and evidence – and you will never pass this exam if you don't have a great understanding of these two areas. You are making a lot of time to study, so you need to identify your weak areas. I personally worked all the problems from wiley test bank and then went back and only hit my weak areas on the second pass. You are testing on February 25th, that is a good bit away so don't panic – set yourself up with a good study plan that includes working lots of MCQ's, working many questions is very important.

    A - passed
    R - passed
    F - passed

Just my 2 cents…. You need to understand Planning, Internal Control & evidence, inside/out. These 3 areas will make up about 60-70% of your exam. Rest will be audit reports/ sampling etc.

I would put all my resources and time in these 3 areas, master them so well that if you choose A, can you explain to the audience why BCD are wrong with confidence. This is where you will learn a lot about audit.

I approached audit differently, for me it was easy to study but difficult to test. I would read the question / stem and then question and talk to myself , as to where the auditor is, in planning phase, in internal control or substantive procedures.

In your exam question ABCD, will be made of Internal control, planning and substantive, so i would eliminate 3 wrong answers and then reason again as to why this is the right answer.

By prcoess of thoughtful elimination i would get the concept and master it , step by step… Take baby steps and master the 3 main areas…Thats the bread & butter of audit, failing to understand these 3 sections will hurt you every time , better master it once & for all.

Cause audit reports are straight from the text book, whether you know them or not, the difference btw a pass/ fail will come down to those 3 areas.

Thanks jsblamer and mena je twa,

I think you are right and I will do just that. I will take an addition week trying to master these 3 areas. I have about 4 weeks until my exam so, I will spend the next week mastering these areas and 2 weeks on other areas. I want to spend at least a week for my final review to drill multiple choice questions.

    Thanks Again,
