    this was my second attempt at AUD..i got a 73 my first time.

    The MCQ’s were pretty straight forward with a couple crazy ones. I felt really good about the first testlet so I was expecting a crazy second testlet; however, I couldnt really see a BIG change in difficulty. I did notice more random, far fetched questions thou. I even got one question 4 times! once on the 1st and 2nd testlet and TWICE on the 3rd. I wish i could tell you the question because you would say “whaaa..” I didnt see that question in any of my materials, I only knew the answer because of my experience at work!

    I know everyone always bashes the SIMS but I believe that while they are horrible..its due to the lack of clarity in what exactly they are asking for… The TOPICS on the sims were covered in my review. I did also have 2 sims that probably belonged on FAR not AUD.

    I have no idea how I did…I hope I passed! I used GLEIM on my first attempt and ROGER this time. ROGER is much better for me because gleim feels like I’m reading a dictionary.

    Congrats on making it through the exam! I hate waiting on scores (I too am waiting on Audit), but I really really hope we both see numbers greater than 74 in September!

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

    hey dream big and Iwannabacpa,

    Question for you on Audit: what testbank did you use to prepare for the sims? My first swipe I tried to use Wiley since I had heard the Becker's sims weren't indicative of the exam. Was going to use Wiley for sims again—-what do you guys think?

    I am actually confused because I felt the best about my audit exam compared to BEC and FAR, and I ended up passing them and failing Audit last window. In fact, I felt pretty good about my sims on Audit–but my score report said the opposite.

    Thanks for your help!

    my first time..I spent alot of time doing GLEIM's practice sims (about 40 of them) and when i took the actual exam..i was still blown away by the simulations. I only got one on the real exam that resembled one of the practice. This second time around i spent that time on MCQ's about(2500 of them) with 1000 of them the week leading to the exam so it was fresh.

    I think the MCQ is your best bet to get the material down cold so you understand it from any direction the sims asks it.

    Also wiley had a section on evidence that includes analytics(ratios,JE's,trial balances) would be a good bet to “review” those. lol

    @yankee

    I used Wiley and thought it was decent for SIMS. I understand your feeling about AUD. I passe, but thought I'd done much better than my score indicated. I thought I'd scored at least in the mid 90's and that I had a good chance of a 98 or 99. If you look at my performance report, though, it looks worse than those for any of my other exams.

    Good luck to you.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

    @dreambigCPA,

    I too have the same feeling. I took my BEC exam yesterday and i found questions was not that tough. Its weird. Questions must get tougher if we do well right. Anyways its over. Have to start AUD. I am also using Roger's material. Would you mind telling me about your preparation for AUD? That would be helpful for me.

    Hi Sowmiya!

    I would watch Roger's video for a particular section..then read his chapter for that section and take good notes..then do all his MCQ before moving to his next section. Takes time..especially if your not patient like me lol but i try not to rush to finish but do it once, do it right! I also have Gleim so i supplemented some of their notes and used their test software. my last two weeks before the test i do alot of MCQ's and re write ALL my notes for my final review. I'm afraid if this is revealing too much info but i would highly suggest you reviewing basic JE's/corrections/adjustments and understand the basic ratios and analytics!!

    I dont know your daily schedule but i work full time, so go to bed at 8-9pm and wake up at 3:30-4am and study before work while my brain is fresh..but i dont have any kids..or wife…or a life 🙂 GOOD LUCK!! you will do great!

    I took Audit yesterday also. It only took me 2 hours to complete the exam! I felt super prepared, plus I have been an auditor in public accounting for 3 years. Now I am worrying I rushed through the questions and didn't read them all properly. Ugh waiting on these scores are torture.

    @j214,

    sounds like things went well–good to hear. What did you think of the sims? I sit on 8/30

    I hate second guessing myself too! Try not to obsess, like you said it is a long wait till 3rd week of September.

    Best of luck!

    Thankfully I was able to use the research tabs for 3 of the Sims I was having issues with. 1 was completely out of left field, and I am hoping it was a pre-test question. Overall, they seemed to be areas that I studied, but I never seem to be able to tell. Good Luck!

    I know people don't like to answer this question because it's so subjective, but I'm gonna do it anyway…

    To any of you who have recently taken AUD, or will soon be taking it, can you ballpark how many hours you spent studying?

    Hey, I'm an accountant…I thrive off numbers. 🙂
