I took my Audit exam today and am kind of worried: I know M/C testlets are supposed to be adaptive. I’m worried because my M/C questions weren’t hard or long at all, and the 2nd/3rd testlets didn’t seem to get harder. My simulations weren’t too hard either……

(When I took my FAR in August this year, I can tell the testlet was getting harder: question is much longer and the calculation is harder)

anyone has the same experience on AUD and still pass?

If simulations weren't too hard, then that's great! That's what really counts. Maybe you were just well prepared overall. It's really hard to assess the difficulty of these things, don't stress.

Hi All,

I'm taking AUD in a week. I want to pass this soooo bad since I've been neglecting my 2 kids (3 and 6 yrs old) with the promise that I'll be done at the end of this month. I have finished listening to all the lectures on Becker and start working on MCQs today. I don't have enough time to skim the book again, and I feel like I don't remember all the details. I did finish all the MCQs in the software after each lecture (except for supplemental questions) and got 80%+, now I'm gonna rework them. I don't feel prepared. Any tips please help!

I hope what you said is ture. However, i don't think i were that well-prepared because i marked several questions that i am not 100% sure. Anyways, now what i can do is pray and wait. : )

@StudyHard – Do NOT worry about the questions getting harder/easier! When I took FAR in October, I felt that testlet 2 and 3 were the same level of difficulty as testlet 1. I also didn't think that they got too much longer as the test went on. This devastated me.

By the time I got to the 3rd testlet, I was convinced that I failed. So I finished testlet 3 and the sims very flippantly. I thought that the sims were way too easy as well.

I left Prometric sure that I would have to retake it.

I PASSED!

This goes to show that you never know what will happen. You probably passed!

Hi I had the SAME experience on Saturday during my AUD exam and I posted about it in a diff thread…(following)..I swear i got the same one liner question in three different testlets…i got out of the exam an hour early..i never do that…i have NO freaking clue if I should feel happy and feel like i nail it or not…uggh i just want to know the results soooo badly..

I just gave my AUD yesterday..I had previously taken from NY twice..I do not remember the scores but I didn't make it. A coworker suggested to change the state because NY has a lot of competition and hence lot of failures so before i gave up the idea of this CPA thing completely i decided to take it from VT. I do not know how this can happen but there wasn't a single question that was more than a sentence long…does this mean I screwed up big time because I only got questions that were one or two sentences long? I remember when I took AUD a year ago the second and third testlets were filled with questions that were a paragraph long….and yesterday I swear I got the same question on review reports in all the three different MCQ testlets..wth? I feel like I did great and there was not a single question on sampling calculations or ratios..but im very scared to be happy because I have felt that Ive nailed it before only to find out that i missed it by few points 🙁 Any similar experiences?

I had a similar experience. I finished with almost an hour left. The first testlet was moderately difficult but the second and third were easier. I was very worried! The second and third testlets had many questions on a strong area of auditing for me. So maybe that is why it was easy.

I had three SIMs that I really struggled with. The research SIMs were easy and the other two SIMs were easy also. The journal entries were not difficult.

Hopefully we both nailed it!

When I took FAR I did not feel like the testlets were geting harder, I sensed the 3 testlets were equally easy. And I passed. I normally dominate SIMS on the practice tests and I probably did again.

You probably will not only pass the exam, but will score very high. I felt the same way with FAR. Couldn't believe some of the questions they asked, which were so basic, seems like my daughter could have correctly answered them. I was afraid because the review was so overwhelming. I passed AUD even though I was guessing the SIMS.

@StudyHard: Don't even bother trying to gauge the difficulty of testlets during the exam. On every exam I have taken so far, I never could definitively tell if the questions were getting harder or easier. They all seemed overall the same. Clearly, my scores indicate I had some “difficult” testlets, but even looking back I can't tell the difference. During REG especially I started panicking some because I was flying through a fair number of questions. Then I realized I have no idea of judging anything for sure.

Just try and focus on the problems. If the problems seems easy, great! Just read carefully to be sure you're not missing key words or prompts and falling for dummy answers. Be calm, cool, collected, and get ready for another pass. Good luck!

one thing i really want to tell ppl : even the size and the difficulty of the questions is not getting bigger and harder, DOESN”T mean u won't pass. (i got some questions only with one simple line)
