To Test or Not to Test

So, I’m scheduled for AUD in 9 days and I do NOT feel confident. I’m confident in the process of AUD and all of the steps, however I am not completely confident when answering the MCQs. I know you cannot be fully confident per se, but I know there are a few big ticket subjects I need to study a lot more. Do I test next week or push it out a few weeks into Q2? What would you do for those of you who have passed AUD? I do not have any real-life audit experience here. I was thinking that I would test in Q1 and if I fail then I can test again in the early part of Q2. Though, money is a factor and I just don’t know….

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

I have zero audit experience and passed on the first try with pretty minimal prep (Roger lectures, Ninja MCQ). If you can hammer through the Ninja MCQ bank over the next 9 days, you will probably have a decent chance of passing.

Thanks for responding so quickly! I am using Roger's Review and test bank, plus rewriting Ninja notes. Do you think the NINJA test bank is better? I can realistically dedicate 3-4 hours per day for the remainder of the week, many more on the weekend and then another 3-4 per day on Mon-Weds of next week.

I didn't even bother using the Roger IPQ but most people think that Ninja MCQ is more difficult. I worked on them until I had an 85% or better average in every category.

3 or 4 hours a day should be plenty – especially if you're not starting from scratch.

I don't think I studied 3-4 hours in a day, don't have any experience in auditing (don't want any, either), absolutely hated studying for it because I'm so uninterested, and I still passed. I think you have a shot and probably better than you think. I used Becker and NINJA MCQ.

Thanks, ladies! I'm going to go ahead and purchase Ninja MCQ. If I do end up failing, I'll restart my studying and reset the test bank too.

Yeah, I don't know how ready I am for AUD either since I barely started studying for it after a long hiatus, but I already took it once and considering the 12 week wait for score release, I'm like ready or not here I come! The only thing you lose is $150 when you really think about it cuz AUD can already be a doozy in the fact that they can test you on every little detail, every little word, and timing matters in a question but when I took it before I didn't consider it hard as more….weird perse although i can't really tell if that's because I didn't get all the way through the material the first time around…

You can consider studying the AL literature too…I think that will help some cuz you can usually find little gold nuggets of answers there. You can also buy Ninja Plus alone which has videos that I can actually listen to and not fall asleep like other programs (also thankfully they are really really short and straight to the point- my fav thing about it). Or Audio. I'm a big fan of supplementing when I think it's necessary, but only with what will work.

Yeah, with the help of the previous posters and this forum (searching for clarity on certain hard to swallow topics), I'm going to go ahead and go for it. If I go down, I'll go down fighting. So, off to bed I go…I'll be rising early in the morning to get a good read on my notes before work.
