    Hello,

I have a question. I took AUD the back in October, since then I have started on FAR. I got my score for AUD today and I didn’t pass. Do I continue with FAR and wait to schedule AUD after that, or do I schedule it right now and take it and then pick up FAR again? Please help!

    Thanks!

The same thing happened to me and I decided to go back to AUD because I got a 65 and I knew I wasn't prepared the first time because I didn't put forth the effort I should have to study. I didn't think it would be difficult to gain the 10 points if I put my mind to it and I didn't want to lose all the knowledge I still had from the first test. If you're close to a pass I would concentrate on AUD until you pass it.

Yes, I am going to do that. I got a 62, which is not great, but I think I can bring it up. Thank you so much.

MM I took aud 2 months ago and got a 71, i know i accidentally forgot to change the section for my research sim even though i found it, it was not in the section I thought, like i immdeiately thought oh, that AUC but it was in ATT, so i got the right subsection and paragraph, but forgot to change the section, and I had an hour left when i finished the test, so I really think the research sim could possibly have given me 4 points if i had gotten it right. So I stopped studying for reg and have been preparing for a retake this coming thursday with aud… best of luck to ya

I failed AUD and decided no retakes until I have taken all four parts. AUD was my first test and it was probably the worst one to take first since there are a lot of cross-over concepts from FAR and BEC. I would forget about an AUD retake for now and focus on FAR.

I took FAR (May) first and while I waited for my results I immediately began studying for AUD (August). While studying for AUD I found I failed FAR, but still continued to study for AUD since I had already scheduled my test. After my AUD test, I went back to begin FAR anew. It was my first CPA exam to take so it was more of a tester of both the exam itself and my study habits. Come to find out I needed to revamp my study habits. I begin to study for FAR again and do the NINJA way of studying. WRITE, WRITE, and REWRITE my notes and any questions I missed. To me it was easier to tackle 2 tests at once, no breaks between tests (okay maybe a few wine-filled days). Once I pass these 2 tests I’ll tackle REG and BEC. (Hopefully this spring!)

    Best of luck!

    FAR - 70, 80!!!!!
    AUD - 67, 90!!!!
    REG - 88!!!
BEC - 77!!!! DONE DONE DONE DONE!!

A lot of different factors should play into your decision. First, it depends on if you've already scheduled your FAR exam. If you have already scheduled it and it's coming up soon, then just focus on FAR for now. If not, then it depends on how much you've studied for FAR at this point. If you're all studied up and it's fresh on your mind, then just power through and take the FAR exam. If you've just begun to study or feel really weak on the material, it might be worth it to just set FAR aside at this point and go back to AUD.

I made some critical mistakes when planning my exams and study time. I took a BEC review class in the spring and then immediately took an AUD review class afterwards (literally, my BEC class finished and I had to walk across the hall to my AUD class). I thought it would be a great idea to take BEC right after that and then cram in the AUD exam 2 weeks later because I figured it would all be fresh on my mind! Wrong. It was incredibly difficult to study for BEC when I was in the middle of taking the AUD class, and then I couldn't study as well for AUD because I had barely been paying attention in my review class due to the stress of studying for BEC. I ended up failing both parts. What I should've done was just focused on studying for AUD and then gone back to BEC later. It particularly stung because the AUD clarity standards went into effect in July, so I basically had to retake my review class to learn all of the new stuff.

Learn from my mistakes…focus on one section at a time! (Basically: if you're balls-deep in the FAR material, just focus on FAR; if you've barely started, go back to AUD while it's still fresh on your mind.)

    FAR: 77
    BEC: 74, 73, 80!
    REG: 81
    AUD: 66 (study for 1 week = fail), 79

    YOU CAN DO THIS! 🙂
