    Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if there was anyone that could give me some pointers for Audit? I have passed Far, Reg, and BEC first try, but I cannot seem to pass Audit. I have failed 2 times now and am a bit discouraged. The first time I used Becker, and was honestly shocked that I failed when I received my score. Second time, I purchased a Wiley test bank and worked through the problems. Again was confident, but received another failing grade. The only positive was that according to the score sheet they send out, I was comparable in 3 of the 6 topics. This was a huge improvement from my first test. Now for my third time I am using a review course from my area, Philadelphia Cpa Review, and it is going well. Things are starting to click now. My approach this time is to pretend that i never took the test at all. I am watching all the lectures and doing every problem.

What I wanted to know is does anyone have some tips/tricks that they feel helped them get ready for the exam? Any help, advice or test taking tips would be greatly appreciated.

Get the ninja notes for AUD. They helped me improve my score by 13 points!

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

I really think drilling down on multiple choice questions on your weak areas, especially if you are having problems with the the differences in reports, is the best way to learn audit (after doing the reading/lectures of course). There are so many small nuances.

If you are having trouble on the sims, you might want to freshen up on you JEs a week or so before you go in for the exam since those probably aren't going to be covered in your review material, but you'll probably some in the exam.

    Reg 77 (Aug 11)
    Aud 80 (Nov 11)
    BEC 79 (Jan 12)
    FAR 80 (April 12)

Like you already mentioned, study like it's the first time you're studying for it. I failed AUD the first, and passed it the second time, increasing my score by ~25 points. I attribute this to studying the second time as if it was all new material, and focusing more on quality than quantity (I did, however, do all MCQs in Wiley and CPAexcel). I also did every Wiley SIM. Some might disagree with it, but I think doing all the SIMs in Wiley helped prepare me better for my second attempt. Also, drink lots of alcohol…err, scratch that, nevermind.

    BEC: Passed
    AUD: Passed
    REG: Passed
    FAR: Passed

I passed AUD second time around as well! Basically, study like you are studying it for the first time! I used Becker and though I bought Wiley testbank, I didn't end up using it.

This is what I did w/ Becker:

-Read all Becker chapters, at least twice,

-Did all the MCQs, more than 2-3 times, make sure I understood why I got a question right or wrong

    -Kept doing the progress test,

    -Took notes on weak area,

-Did the Becker final exams until I was scoring above 90%,

-My SIMS on the actual exam were very difficult, but I managed to fill every single blank space with educated guesses and the reserach tab:)

I barely passed (75), but I think I would've scored higher had I used the Wiley testbank.

    Good Luck, go get it!!

If you're a learn-by-doing type, write out each and every opinion in your study materials at least once. It takes some time, but this helped me SO much my second time around.

    Good luck!!
