I was planning to study for AUD but found out I failed FAR. So, I am planning to retake it on on the 3rd week of Jan. Considering that, is it going to be enough to study for AUD to take at the end of Feb, like 5 weeks rough time…and I know nothing about Auditing, from scratch., working full time..will FAR knowledge help on AUD? would really appreciate comments, suggestions…

I would say you probably don't have enough time given your work schedule. Wile there is some overlap between the two sections, AUD is really intensive on audit procedure, which you might have trouble learning in 5 weeks if you have not had any real audit classes recently or done audit work.

I work full-time and I used 5 weeks to study for AUD. It was my first test and I had no prior knowledge of auditing besides the two classes I had taken (so basically only a few key terms). I studied for 4 weeks and reviewed everything the last week. It worked for me in June but definitely consider Christmas, new year's, etc. and other (important) distractions. Most people will say FAR will help you on the Sims. While this is true, you don't need an in-depth understanding of the FAR material. A basic understanding sufficed for me.

One important piece of information missing is the amount of time per week you plan to study.

Also, I would highly recommend FAR before AUD. I'm not saying you can't pass AUD without FAR first, but it definitely helps to have an understanding of FAR concepts before taking AUD. Also, journal entries on the AUD SIMS are a very real possibility.

i work full-time at a public accounting firm and studied audit in 4.5 weeks.

i'm however still waiting on my score– but felt like it was enough time.

it's a bit slow at work right now so when i had down-time i would study at work.

I studied AUD in 2 weeks working full-time plus interviewing for a new job. I also have zero experience in audit but I did take an AUD class 3 years before where I got a C+.

I think AUD is the hardest and trickiest exam but it does not take long to study. You just need to develop a broad understanding of the entire engagement first and everything will click very fast. I think NINJA notes are really good for this. Just try to keep in mind the big picture (the purpose of the auditor) while studying and really know the Audit Risk formula and how it affects decisions. Building from there is best in my opinion

thanks a bunch for suggesstions..I have 0 knowledge on auditing..never took a class ..nothing..I failed FAR with pretty close points..but started studying again and feels like I forgat a lot in 2 weeks..looks like I have to push back Auding for April/May window..thanks anyway..I always appreciate the valuable suggesstions..good luck everyone..
