Just got my 2nd failing grade in AUD (73) and my score report indicates a “Stronger” in every single MCQ section. I was wondering how many of you have actually seen the same thing on their score reports? Also, how badly would I have had to mess up the SIMS to still fail lol.

You obviously bombed the sims hard core. In AUD the sims will MAKE or BREAK you. You MUST use the research tab to pass AUD. That's how I passed. I learned that the hard way too.

I am not in agreement with many that you have to do well on the Sims because I have always gotten Weaker on my Sims, including AUD and REG which I have passed. You can't bomb them but if you score stronger on the MCQ and Weaker on Sims, you can still pass. I think it just depends on how much ‘Weaker' you are. By this, I mean that you may have only been a point or two shy of getting comparable. I have yet to get a comparable or stronger on a sim other than BEC…

If you got stronger overall on AUD and Weaker on Sims, you probably did pretty poor on the sims.

Wow! That's insane! Yeah I figured that I bombed the SIMS pretty bad. I tried to use the Auth. Lit tab, but most of the SIMS were FAR and or JE entry related, so they werent anywhere to be found. The AUD sims that were on the test, were very vague. It's back to the drawing board a guess. Damn you AUD!!!

I gave up trying to make sense out of how the scores come in. I still don't know how I passed REG. If you looked at my break down it looks like a failing report!

As i have said in the past, repeated so many times and i say it again. Dont go by this report. Its a utter crap. I know some people disagree with me and that too strongly, but this is what AICPA has it for you.

Think about it, you cant ever, ever challenge this report card, not only that, you dont even know how this is produced, what goes in this report as an input and what it spits out. I bet they dont even know.

Move on with your studies and dont spend a minute trying to analyze this piece of garbage. Study again as if you scored a 50….

The same thing happened to CPA Peanut with her last three attempts with Audit… she got a back to back 72, with that last 72 being stronger in EACH section of the mcs and weaker in the sims… She just passed with an 81. So you might want to chat with her to ask her what she did different to get her passing score..

I am one that disagrees with you. I don't think that the AICPA just pull crap out of their butt and throws it onto this form. Should you not study certain section because you got stronger on it in the exam? Absolutely not but should you focus on Sims if you score weaker every single time according to this…Absolutely.

Also remember that sims are 40% of your score… If you are doing well with your mcs; then you must do poorly on your sims to not get that passing grade… Work sims like there is no tomorrow, until you throw up, then do some more.

Finish working with (dedicate yourself to) FAR and take AUD again early next testing window.

How is it even possible to study for Sims? I feel as though it is the luck of the draw really.

I find it hard to study for sims as well.

I did every becker simulation and almost every wiley simulation I could get my hands on and not one simulation was even remotely even on the same subject.

Honestly some of my AUD sims may as well have been in FAR.

I feel the same way. Some claim to have had all AUD related sims and 2 research questions….. guess it just depends on the exam, and your luck. Sucks really, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

It sucks, i take FAR next week, and then start work in 2 weeks! Hopefully this no life thing ends by the end of the year.
