Just got my 2nd failing grade in AUD (73) and my score report indicates a “Stronger” in every single MCQ section. I was wondering how many of you have actually seen the same thing on their score reports? Also, how badly would I have had to mess up the SIMS to still fail lol.

    🙁

    AUD- 71, 73, 87 Done!!!!!
    BEC- 75
    FAR- 72, 77

Exact same thing for me! My 3rd time taking AUD I scored stronger in all MCQ category and weaker in SIMs, got a 72. My score report the 3rd time was much better than my 2nd attempt, but yet got the same exact score. I have no idea how they grade these things. I swear my 4th attempt at AUD I put in 1/4th of the effort and scored the highest. I really must have gotten killed in the SIMs to fail those times while dominating the MCQs.. Just keep pushing! What are you using for materials ?

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I'm using Becker, and the Wiley test bank…..I've been over the MCQ's at least 20 times for each. I have the MCQ's dominated. I always seem to get stuck with vague sims, or FAR sims that are nowhere to be found in the study material. Any suggestions?

I have the opposite problem… my scores are comparable in most of the MCQ's & stronger in the SIMS. I know that I'm getting tripped up in the wording of the questions 🙁 I totally have the hang of actual application of the concepts to the real world!

What's your secret to nailing the AUD sims? Is it just your real world experience? I actually liked the AUD material, but will be working in tax. I thought AUD would be my best score, boy did I think wrong.

For the MCQ's I would just do the MCQ's over and over and over again until you basically have them memorized, the exam questions are very similar to the review material.

@Whyme, I really felt like the AUD sims were not material that could be memorized, so you have to practice the thought process. I did practice sims in my review program & made sure I understood the logic involved & then I tried not to overthink it on the exam.

FYI, I have passed AUD 3 times. I work in a CPA firm where we focus on on-going work and only prepare tax returns for our clients. I don't have any audit clients, just a lot of compilations & a handful of reviews.

dont read into that too much. You might have been slightly stronger on the MCQ but much weaker on the SIMs. Next time you take it, make sure you utilize the research tab. It will take you a lot longer but will help you
