Starting to feel like Bulmash videos are pointless to watch (Yaeger)

Anyone else felt like they don’t really learn anything from watching Gary Bulmash’s lectures, for the Audit reviews by Yaeger in particular? Has anyone decided to just skip his videos and do something else instead to prepare for AUD? Too bad I already paid for this thing.

I opted not to get the Yaeger cram for Audit for precisely the same reason. I don't get alot out of Bomash…and his monotone voice puts me out immediately.

I ended up just studying on my own and now am waiting on scores! Hoping my choice won't haunt me. Best of luck with Audit–it is tougher than it seems. At least that is my opinion! It is really easy to get the mcq's wrong if you don't read the question carefully. Thank God the time for the exam is really more than you need, so you don't have to worry about that like you would for the others.

You have got to be joking. If you look at my signature, you can see the jump in my score. Gary Bulmash is great! I don't understand why people don't like him. He explains everything you need to know. There wasn't one question on my exam that Gary didn't emphasize. I think he's better than Phil and Cindy, IMHO.

    @cpaman,

Sorry! DIdn't mean to bash Gary. But honestly for me his voice sounds like the teacher in Ferris Bueller (Ben Stein) which is where he loses me. I also had alot of trouble with Audit–which is probably where the trouble begins–I didn't find it very interesting compared to BEC or FAR. I think Phil is ok, but my fav is Cindy.

I actually called and spoke to Gary on an auditing issue and he was very patient with me.

Best of luck on your upcoming scores. I am very nervous about REG. ugh!

I would say that Gary is worth watching IMO. He does a good job of emphasizing important concepts and gives very helpful advice concerning what you should concentrate on/memorize in order to prepare for the exam. Also, pay attention to how he teaches you to do MCQs by identifying key words in the question and in the answer selection. That helped me more than anything on the exam.

The most important thing is to do as many MCQs as possible. Gary even says that doing MCQs is the key to passing AUD.

Gary Bulmash is a bit dry, but he clearly knows his stuff. He's not very animated like the others, which I think is why people don't like him as much. Don't skip the videos though. Like others have said, do tons of multiple choice questions.

He is a bit dry but you should get a lot out of the MCQ's he goes over. I just used Yeager's full version of Audit for the test I took in August. This was the 4th go around for Audit and I originally used one of the big courses with an animated guy and that did not help. I definitely got a lot more out of Gary's teaching. Hopefully enough to get me above a 75. Also try using Wiley's online test bank, the practice you will get with the MCQ's on that is invaluable.

    dsal,

I had the same opinion when I first watched the videos. The first 2 modules I was thinking there is no way I am going to pass with this guy. He is terrible. By the time I got to Module 4, I was on fire with the information. Keep listening to him. It will all start to come together, I had never taken an auditing class at the point I started Yaeger and I think I scored pretty well

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

    Haze,

I sure hope so..im only in the 3rd one now. ive ended up watching the videos while highlighting the material in the book that he's skimming through then writing notes after the video. But still, i find myself swearing at him every now and then. its not good, im sure hes a good person.

I felt like all the Yeagar video's could have been sharper, but at the same time I felt it useful to watch as well as read.

    Aud 73, 79
    Reg 70, 60, 67, 76
    Far 70, 66, 72, 87
    Bec 77

Found out this morning I scored a 93 on AUD. I can now say for sure that Gary's teaching does work. Learn to identify key words in the MCQ and memorize what he tells you to memorize and it will help tremendously. Also, I strongly recommend Gleims test prep as a supplement for MCQ.

Told you it works!! He's dry, I admit, but he explains things very well. Honestly, I think he's the only Yaeger instructor that actually prepares his lectures ahead of time before filming them. He's just very well organized compared to Phil and Cindy.

I am very pleased with Gary's quality. I liked his lectures in FAR also. Still very nervously waiting on that score LOL.

The first week or two of the AUD lectures were very painful for me, especially IT where I believe I posted on here how awful it was. Just stick with him, in the end I was pleased with the lectures and thought everything came together really well. I came out of the exam feeling pretty good, but not great, but ended up with a 92!

    FAR - 94 (5/2/11)
    AUD - 92 (7/1/11)
    BEC - 82 (8/25/11)
    REG - 84 (11/21/11)

UGH-help! I was all set to order the Roger cram for Audit (I heard he was high energy–which I feel like I need now!) but after reading everyone's post on Gary I am thinking twice about it. I just want to pass and be done with it……any thoughts on the comparison of Roger vs. Gary?

    appreciate the help.thx
