    I am finding the Wiley AUD Q’s too easy, I am not an auditor, more tax than the rest. What parts of this become hard, I am only thru AUD 1, probably will realize how srewed I am soon, but dont feel the slight bit challenged yet. Getting 90’s and feel strange doing this well. Is it Wiley? Vouch this, talk to the audit committee, downsize to a review blah blah blah. Seems like common sense. I hate auditors, just so you know, prima-donnas.

    Why did the auditor cross the road? Because it was there last year .. . . . . SALY, DILLY Tippicanoe.

    @akb thanks for sticking out for us auditors…

    @givemesleep “I hate auditors – prima donnas…” my response is –> =P

    I would also suggest not getting too comfortable with AUD, while the concepts may seem pretty common sense, if you don't know the specific rule related to why your answer is right or wrong…you will get eaten alive on exam day.

    Please relax, if you ever worked in the real public accounting world you would realize that there is a friendly competition between tax people and auditors. Its all in fun, you will see when you get in the real practice and been doing this for a while. It's all meant in fun and I agree Audit is tough and will probably do me in. Good luck to all my auditors out there. I said prima donnas becuase in my 300 person firm I travel all over in my car and when it came time for an audit 45 miles from the main office the auditors booked hotel rooms ! Prima donnas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    All auditors need is a fabulous insurance policy behind them, try pleasing a client and maintaining a relationship, thats public accounting. No one requests an audit, its all for compliance with a bank, stockholders or an SEC requirement. Go pull a sample and pad your time. Ever make a budget before? Unheard in the audit department always complaining, the client didnt get me this the client did get me that. If it's difficult you guys just say, pass immaterial, same as last year. I hope I get a 99 on this bullshit.

    LOL givemesleep i hear ya! In my firm we by far have the friendly competition between tax and audit. I bit my tounge because our tax department often calls us prima donnas too so I couldn't even “defend” the auditors! Hey it keeps its interesting šŸ˜‰

    hey making selections, stuffing those envelopes and filling out the confirm control is just as tiring as doing a kid's tax return šŸ˜› I work for a firm of about 60 people so I have to do my audits but also all my clients tax returns so I get what you mean. They both have their pluses and minuses. and i would be a sis šŸ™‚

    I wish I could block your comments.

    @Jeff

    I thought we were going to try to keep negative threads from the forum?

    @those who are here for the right reasons

    Sorry we have to deal with this and good luck on your tests.

    @ 10yrs… Sorry I don't know how to explain why things worked out. It's easier to recognize where I messed up on the other 3:

    REG – skimmed taxation b/c I ran out of time… really only knew individual. Also my college education only had 1 class on tax.

    FAR – never made it through the whole Wiley book, neglecting the last 3 modules. This is where I found out that the Wiley book is seemingly designed to leave the most tested topics fresh on your mind at the end…. the ones I never even read.

    AUD – explained above…. mostly I feel there's a gigantic disconnect between any audit prep course / book and what the test looks like. MCQs are the only thing that fill the gap and I didn't do any the first two times b/c I felt overly prepared.

    None of these tests are about intelligence & aptitude. It's all just preparation & being familiar with the material. BEC I didn't rush my preparation & was lucky enough to avoid gigantic errors.

    Admittedly, I took BEC first, underestimated the test after the 88, and tried to rush through the other 3 to get it done & get a better job sooner. I was shooting for the 300 club.

    BEC - 88
    AUD - 69, 74, 93
    FAR - 78
    REG - 79

    Thanks Morganf for the detailed reply.

    I did write my BEC once in nov 2010 and scored a 65.I exactly know my mistakes then.I did not concentrate at all on MCQ (bangs head).I was so well prepared with the materials.How i wish i had spent more time on MCQ.

    I am trying not to make obvious mistakes this time.
