    Wow, I was hoping today was going to be my lucky day. Took my first CPA section today (AUD), and the MCQ’s were good. I didn’t think I was doing all that great until those wonderful LONNGGGG questions came along. The simulations though, wiped me out. I got two research questions (yay!) which I probably aced, but all the others were just HORRID. I felt like I should have taken FAR first to prepare me for AUD…. Is there any chance of getting a passing score with getting three simulations right and for all the others, just partial credit?

    @Zaiitz3: I passed FAR at 80, and blew off 2 SIMs, so I was able to finish 5 SIMs out of 7, and for sure I made enough mistakes on those 5. I am sure you did well. Good luck!

    @zaiitz3

    Everybody feels worse immediately after the exam, so don't beat yourself up. Congrats on having your first exam done! Now onto to FAR. I hope to hear good news from ya in the near future! Good luck.

    Don't get too down. A lot of us (myself included) have felt like we bombed a decent portion of the SIMS and ended up doing perfectly fine. They can say SIMS are worth 40% all they want, but after all the “analysis” they perform on the scores, I have a hard time believing that.

    On FAR, I felt OK on the multiple choice and completely horrible on the SIMS. I left one completely blank! Somehow I ended up with an 89. Take a break from all your hard work (or move onto the next section). You'll probably find that you did just fine. Best of luck!

    Yes, don't know where in the world they came up with the sims. But sounds like you should be okay.

    FAR - Passed:)
    REG - Retake TBD
    BEC - Missed by 3 points Retake TBD

    I have given up analyzing on my exams. The first one I took, I felt horrible….I didn't feel comfortable on MCQs and guessed on almost all sims (except research) and got 71. Yes, a failing score, but def. higher than I expected it to be since I bombed almost all the sims.

    Next two, I felt okay on both…and still got 72, and 73. I felt so happy coming out of AUD and got 73…I have no idea how they grade these things.

    Don't worry about it, and move on to the next one.

    Yeah – I took the same day — those sims were HORRID. Some of the stuff I didn't even know how to answer and guessed. I though the MC were a bit hard too by Testlet 3 – I was like what is going on! Nonetheless, I know what to look for now. It was a pretty tough audit exam I thought. But agreed with hopefulcpa28, move on to the next!

    You really can't go by your feelings after the exam. I felt awful after both of my exams taken thus far and ended up not just passing but doing pretty good.

    Thanks guys, the good news, I'll know around November 21st how unreliable my feelings are about the exam ? 🙂
