Does anyone have any suggestions on Sim prep for AUD? I keep ready and hearing they are really hard and I’ve searched the forum and all that I got out of it was that 1. Becker is ok for them, 2. Wiley is too easy except for the book, thanks!

I'd say the consensus is not to spend too much time “practicing” the sims. Do a few of them so that you are comfortable with the formats. Your time is better spent understanding all the material so that you are able to apply the concepts to the sims. Again (as T.G. would say), your time is better spent doing tons and tons of MCQ.

Practice the research a little bit due to the tools being a tad odd and requiring an exact format. Otherwise the sims (at least to me) seem totally random and nothing like anything I ever practiced…

Some Sims will be similar to what's in your review book and some will be completely out of left field. There's not much you can do to prepare for the Sims. Just keep reviewing your materials so the concepts sink in and and do lots of MCQs to test whether you're grasping the concepts. Also, it's best to practice a few Research questions using the Wiley software.

Also, try to make good use of the Authoritative Literature tab when working on the Sims. I panicked when I was tackling my AUD Sims and completely forgot that I had access to that and could've looked up my answers. Luckily, I passed. Whew!!! But still, don't make the same mistake I did. Make good use of it!!

Seeing the SIMs and what format they can take can never hurt you, however it may give you a false sense of security with “knowing the SIMs.”

The authoritative tabs may make it easier but it won't tell you if things increase or decrease risks or if an auditor is independent or not. However, the standard reports are all there in the authoritative tabs so that makes life a little easier…
