Should I reschedule?

So I’m only halfway through Becker’s A2 for audit and I feel so behind. I am working in tax and starting next week it will be required for us to work at least 55 hours so I don’t know how much studying I will be able to do during the week. My exam is scheduled for March 3rd but I honestly don’t think I’ll be ready in time. I’m a slow reader/studying and for some reason the audit topics aren’t sticking like the FAR topics did (maybe because its extremely boring).

Should I keep studying but reschedule my exam after busy season? Or keep the date that I have?

I would have asked you to stick to your original date had it not been busy season. Since you are working busy season, I'd recommend taking it after. That said, continue studying on lighter days and see how much material you can get through. When you are 10 days or so away from the exam date, you will have a better idea of whether you need to reschedule or not. For now, keep going!

@lam2848 I'd only say stick to the original date if it sounded like you had a firm study plan. It doesn't sound like you do (“I don't know how much studying I'll be able to do durning the week.”). Nothing wrong with rescheduling. Just make sure that – when you do – you establish a study plan and stick to it. I realize there are a lot of variables, but if, for instance, you're single (no spouse; no kids), you should have a lot of time outside of work to study (early mornings, late nights, weekends). Of course rest is important as well, but you should still have sufficient amount of study time.

If you reschedule, just make sure to set a plan and goals for each week (i.e. “finish chapter 3 by Saturday night, stuff like that), and do whatever you have to do to meet those milestones.

    Best of luck to you!
