Should I go ahead and reschedule?

Took my test today, I think I did very well on the MCQ’s. I noticed many that were either exact duplicates or very very similar to CPAExcel or Wiley. I didn’t notice the questions get harder per se but by the same token, I have done every Wiley twice or more and CPAExcel once and some twice. I’m guessing that the WIley and CPAExcel includes a mix of easy/medium/difficult so I was so familiar with the questions that they seemed familiar instead of more difficult. I hope anyway, I was very comfortable with the concepts tested.

Then the tasked based simulations kicked my butt…I think. There were two which tested the exact same thing with a different set of facts so I am HOPING one of those is the pre-test question that gets thrown out. Two I think I did reasonably well on but there were so many pieces of them it’s hard to tell.

I had hoped to feel a sense of relief, but I am now more anxious than before I went. Has anyone passed while doing well on MCQ’s and poorly to average on the tasked based simulations?

    Thanks,

Don't read too much into how you perceive you did on the exam, you can be 100% convinced that you failed and stll pass.

When I took AUD the 3rd time, I left in tears (the first time this reduced me to tears) and started studying for it again that same night. I never remembered the SIMS before and I remembered every one of them that time. I even posted on facebook not to ask because I already knew I failed. I went right back to MCQ'S and only checked my score on Nov 3 as a formality to see the official confirmation that I would be facing it a 4th time.

I nearly fell from my chair when I saw an 84.

Besides you can't reschedule at this point anyway, you have to wait until 48 hours after your score is even released and you can't retake it in this testing window. So relax a bit.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

Oh sorry, I was being sarcastic…I didn't really plan to reschedule today. I've been going through and researching the TBS questions and it looks like I did fairly well on three (one being the research question). The other four were actually pairs which tested the same thing…..based on comments here, I expect two to stick because they were types which others routinely reported seeing on the tests. The other two tested exactly the same concept but with different facts–they would do me a great favor if they'd throw one of them out.

I guess that all I can do is spend the next few days relaxing and making it up to the kids and wife for all the lost time I spent with them. I'll get my ducks in a row over the weekend with the things I need to do before testing on BEC on 2/27 (pay some bills, get my taxes in order and ready to file, read a little, catch up on sleep, etc.).

The thought of seeing that failing score is nauseating.

CPApending, I also took my audit today and am in the same position as you are. I think i did okay/good in MCQ. Marked 15-16 MCQ in which i was 50/50 on. Sims were okay, few questions seemed to be tricky. My SIMS were kind of similar to how you described yours. I had two simulations that were on the same concept but different facts. Now, i am curious to know if our Sims were identical haha =). Good luck i am sure you did fine.

Ha I don't know how much I can divulge without getting in trouble. I'll just say that when studying the subject of two of my sims, I learned the definition of a word/concept and the SIMS really extended that concept.

I can only assume that the pre-test sim will be one of the four sims that were paired up. There were two sims of the same type and two sims that tested the same concept. I'm hoping the pre-test question is the one testing on the same concept.

I alternate between thinking that I did well 80-100 on three of the seven sims, 1 will be thrown out (hopefully not one of those), leaving two that I probably did marginally well at best on. Panic/dread/relief/happiness/worry/………it's all I'll do to sleep tonight. I need this springboard of good results to propel me through the BEC on 2/27.
