I am not venting or complaining .May be I am a AUD HATER!

FIRST Attempt , I scored 62. On my report, it says I am comparative in MCQS and weaker in SIMS.

I took this challenge and studied hard , I practiced lots of mcqs. I thought I was well prepared for the exam

SECOND Attempt I got the shock of my life scoring 74 . I was so frustrated ,I thought to take a break from AUD. And come back with fresh mind.

NOW: I am not sure , when i m reading book, Its looks like I know the subject , those mcqs are still so fresh in my head that I am scoring 85+. I am aiming high atleast 90+ but somewhere inside I am feeling that I am not learning anything new. I DON’T WANA FAIL THIS TIME!

I dont know what different approach shall I take this time? I am not so confident , I am scared of failing again as I am not learning anything new or I cant think of any different approach form my last attempt where I failed.

I really need your advice , what else should I do??

Are you using the ninja notes, and if so are you rewriting them? I swear thats what got me over the top on my 3rd go at AUD.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

You did improve from the first attempt to the second so that is good news. You're very close. Could you maybe feel like you're not learning because you've become too comfortable with the MCQs since you have studied them so much?

Maybe you should find some different MCQs to supplement your studies and test your knowledge.

I passed all four sections on the first attempt

The only other thing I can think of is practicing SIMs and focusing on the topics you were weaker on. I don't know how the score reports are broken down. Does it tell you how you did in particular topics like Internal Control (COSO)? If so, then I would make sure to hit those topics. Also treat your whole studying as if you never studied before. Don't study for 1 point. Study for a 99. That way you have room for mistakes and odd questions.

Nam, it took me 3 attempts to pass AUD. My first two scores are similar to yours at 73 & 74 – my final score being 91. The difference for me on the third attempt was adding the Ninja Notes to my study routine. I re-read the chapters and went through the mcq's about three times. The key for the mcq's is to understand why each incorrect answer is incorrect. As far as the TBS's, I just practiced the ones that were bubble option, no problems solving or anything.

I don't have that much advice since you're already doing a lot… but on the actual test I would use the literature for every single SIM. AUD leaves you with so much extra time… take advantage of it. I filled in all the stuff I knew and completed the research first. Then I spent an extra hour looking stuff up- even stuff I was pretty sure on. I drew T accounts for certain transactions to think about how things would be reflected in the financials. I did change a few answers because of the extra research so I think it helped me.

    Good luck!

Nam – you can do it! Like Sandra said, you'll have tons of time for AUD, more than you need. Try to get through the MCQs quickly and take a few minutes to review your answers once you complete a testlet. AUD is the only exam in which I actually went back to check my answers. To be efficient, mark the questions you are not completely 100% sure on and go back to review only these. I did this for 2 reasons: 1) Some of the questions seem so easy, that it's easy to quickly pick an answer and actually click on the wrong answer. 2) AUD questions look for “the best answer”, not necessarily the correct answer.

As for the SIMS, practice the ones on Wiley TB. They are better than Becker. Use that AL as much as you can. Use it even on the answers you think are right. I got cocky the first time I took it and assumed my answers were logical. The 2nd time, I looked everything up on the AL, exited the exam with about 2 seconds left.

@Nam .. go with Ninja notes. When I took FAR and REG (which I originally past but lost credit for) I studied with NINJA notes and that seemed to help. I didn't use it for BEC or AUD and well .. was never able to pass. GOOD LUCK!

BEC - TOO MANY FAILS TO LIST! July 2015 I WILL GET IT!
AUD - AUG 2015- NEVER PASSED!
    FAR - LOST CREDIT
    REG - PASSED
