How should I allocate this week without killing myself?

I was close last time just 5 points from passing (SIMS)

I am doing well on the MCQ, but should I focus on doing a specific amount and specific chapter each day until monday?

I just want to make sure I’m using the time I have wisely. I do not want to do much on Sunday except relax.

I have Becker and ninja notes. Thanks!

$10 for cpareviewforfree.com SIMS – They will test your overall knowledge of each subject. This should give you a pretty good idea of where you stand with the material.

    AUD 73 (Aug 12) 77
    BEC 66 71 (Nov 12) 80
    REG 54 81 (May 13) 81
    FAR 63 (Dec 13) 75 TEXAS

With a week to go, you'll want to do a high level review of all the material and an in-depth review of trouble sections. Make sure you have your timing down on the MCQs and the SIMS.

    Regarding the SIMS in particular:

Can you think back to your exam and remember how you felt while doing the SIMS?

    Did you have timing issues?

Were you not used to the format?

    Best of luck!

I never got to my review until the day before the test, then would freak out and do MCQs for 15 hours straight.

for AUD the key for me was doing the MCQs in Wiley and using the literature on the exam. I had two sims that I thought REALLY sucked. I used the literature for pretty much all of it. The upside for AUD is that you should have a $hitton of extra time, and the literature WILL give you the answer. So when you get to the SIMS don't panic, breathe and then start researching.

I hated every second of AUD and said that if I failed it I would just bag the CPA thing, but that being said it really is the easiest section in a lot of ways. More so than any other section you really have to apply the info though.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

@Bent Trained: I felt very uneasy doing the SIMS. I had 2 research questions which were harder than I thought they would be, but thought that I found the right answer. The other 5 were pretty damn tough and I had a lot of trouble figuring them out, especially the 2 calculation heavy questions (no idea what I was doing) But I hoped my MCQ and the sims that I thought I got right (probably 3 of them) would be enough for a pass. I was wrong. Maybe I didnt even them them right in the first place.

I had no timing issues. I had 2 hours for the SIMS and left the exam with about 30 minutes to spare because I was sick and tired of it and wasnt going to figure any more out in the 30 min remaining.

I did have an issue though, if you or anyone else can help. When Im doing searches on the authoritative literature on Becker, it was totally different than the AL on the actual exam. The AL on the exam was much more complicated to navigate and even if I found the right answer for the research question, I had no clue what to put as my answer because I couldnt find which “AU” or “ATT” and number it was. Any advice for that? Anyone know what I'm talking about? That may have deducted 2 points from my exam just because I had the answer for the research questions but didnt know what to PUT in terms of number and classification.

It should be pretty obvious based on the question which section you will find your answer in. Plus the answer itself will help you. When you do a search on the test, all results pop up. For all my tests, not just AUD, once I found the right answer to the research question it was OBVIOUS, no second guessing.

As for the search function. The search within is a super tool. I used it a lot. I had more issues searching in REG than I did AUD, but the database for the test is always “bigger” than in Wiley, Becker, etc. A lot of the times I actually didn't search at all, but rather pinpointed the question by section. I think thats more helpful if you are unsure on how to tackle a question and are looking for more information vs. the research questions.

I am virtually in the same boat, finishing A6 today and I am starting to freak out a little about how quickly the test has come up. I don't think that I've lost information from the last time I took it in August but it's really difficult to ascertain whether I've learned more stuff…. Ahhhhhh nervous wreck this week.

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

    USC MAcc- Fight on!

They say good things come to those who wait, but only those things that are left by those who hustle.

I'm jealous of you guys. I'm still waiting for the state board to approve my retake application and it's taking forever. Just called them to check the status and they were not helpful at all. Not knowing when I can actually sit for the test is giving me all kinds of anxiety. UGH!

    BEC - 84
    AUD - 83
    FAR - 82
    REG - 81

    I'm DONE! CERTIFIED PARTY ANIMAL!
