REG or AUD

    Hi folks,

I found out that I failed AUD the 2nd time around with a 70 (67 first time). I was currently studying for REG and have it scheduled for the 30th of April.

I have just completed watching all the lecture videos for REG.

Should I switch gears back to AUD or keep studying for REG? How long is adequate study time for a 3rd try?

    Your thoughts are appreciated!

i'm in sort of the same boat. after taking AUD again in January, i decided to switch gears to BEC regardless of how i did on AUD. I failed AUD, but passed BEC. Now i'm working on my latest AUD retake and am completely switching up my materials from Becker to Roger CPA's cram course.

It sounds like you're already knee-deep in REG. I'd recommend sticking with that, and rescheduling AUD for at least 6-8 weeks after your REG test.

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

You're so far into REG studying that I would stick with it. And I realize everyone likes a different amount of review time, but you're already done with the videos and not taking it until April 30??

Gsynder – I want to retake AUD before the big changes starting 7/1 so after taking REG on 4/30 ill have about 4 weeks which im hoping should be sufficient for a 3rd round of studying .. I keep getting a stronger in MC & weaker in SIMS.

K917 – watching the review videos is just one part, i still have to do the the MC, becker & wiley, rewrite ninja notes etc

But i want to be done with this exam already, failing AUD twice is such a bummer. Im starting to worry about the 18 month rolling window (Feb 2014) and being unemployed definitely doesnt help!

So since Aud will change as of 7/1, is 5 weeks enough time to pass? I am studying Far, I plan to take it at the end of April or I can push up the date by maybe a week if I hit it really hard. Or should I start on aud while doing final review for Far? Will it really make a difference with aud? Is it more to learn or something?

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

rbcpa – i hear ya about taking it before 7/1. i'm taking on May 25th. I think 4 weeks is enough time if you're improving on the MCQs. I'm taking it 5 1/2 weeks after tax season. as far as the SIMS, everyone on here says to use the authoritative literature on them, which supposedly really helps. I haven't done it yet, but feel like it could've been the difference-maker the last 3 times i took the test.

@rbcpa – Makes sense, I was just curious since I didn't know how much you were supplementing with, and everyone supplements differently. Definitely know there's more to it than videos – my discard pile of empty pens and notepads are evidence of that!

Good luck with whichever way you decide to go.
