@Jeff, I just found out I failed AUD by 1 point. A 74! I am very upset, but am working on a game plan for 2011 to retake it in January. So, my question is: Do I need to study 6-8 weeks at 20 hours per week and start completely over? Or can I just learn the new stuff and review the other for 3-4 weeks? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Wishfulthinking I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I got a 72. It's very overwhelming. Here I got for time number four. It makes ya wonder how stupid am I really? How can I be an Accounting Supervisor of a multi million dollar operation and still not pass this stupid thing. GRRRRR. Ok well I'm better now. So yea at first thought I'm like I gotta get back in there ASAP. But then I'm like 2011 new stuff…..how much? How many questions? Now gotta get new materials and wait for that to come in…..so much to think about. Deeep deeeep deeeeep sigh.

I need to know the same thing…. I feel terrible for anyone that failed, but I am also glad not to be in this AUD boat all alone.

Well, I must say that I have never cried so much in my life over an exam as I have today. I have been through alot and the holidays are very hard for me every year as it is. Lost my Dad 7 years ago and we buried him the day after Christmas… And this year will be the first without my Grandaddy with us too. But I have alot to be thankful for and I need to pick myself back up and start studying. I have already mapped out a game plan for tackling AUD in 2011. I have my new materials already from Becker, so I am good to go. I am planning to just go through the lectures and homework and start fresh. I feel like it will be very helpful and the stuff that I already studied will end up being a good review and then the new stuff I can focus on learning too. And this time will have to practice all the task based sim stuff since it is brand new. Best of luck to you all and WE CAN DO THIS. It is just upsetting today to see we were all so close with our scores! 2011 is a new year and we will all do great.

    wishfulthinking:

You're right! I know failing AUD is my own fault. I was so burned out and tired of studying, that I didn't put the time and effort into it that I did the others. I am hoping that having these few weeks off (since this is my last one I didn't have anything else to study) will help me reeeeeeeally study for it.

I have Becker 2010 as well, and put my order in for the product update this morning. I hope I have it by New Year… I don't really know what else exactly to do. Maybe buy that Wiley test bank????

Best of luck to you, I know you'll do great!

Don't worry wishful….you'll get through it. Just keep a positive attitude. If it makes you feel any better I got a 74 on FAR.

Thanks Everyone! Like I said, I am trying my best to focus on the positive…but as for today I am going to veg out in my pj's and let it all out. Then tomorrow it's ON! Best of luck to all of you!

@Grizzly Thoughts – thanks for the empathy! and it doesn't make me feel better that anyone would make 74. Best of luck to you and you WILL tackle that FAR beast! I studied for over 2 months for FAR and glad it's out of the way…Now I have got to get back in gear and tackle AUD & BEC by the end of FEB 2011.

First try, I got a 73 on AUD. I actually did worse on AUD this time, but it had been a year since I took it last, and I only studied for about two weeks. Skipped studying the Sims altogether, and I'm sure that's at least part of what got me.

Now I'm not sure what to do about retaking this, and my other sections. Will the materials coming out now for the 2011 exam really be able to cover all of the updates and changes? If so, I'm thinking it's best to go ahead and get started while the material is still kind of fresh on my brain. Or best to wait a little while until the new format has been out long enough for the folks that release the study material to catch up with all of the changes?

    What is everyone here doing?

I say it would be best to go ahead and retake AUD in this next testing window (Jan/Feb 2011). I read that it won't be as bad on the new stuff as it will be in the later parts of 2011. The format will be different though and I think it would be best to use updated 2011 materials to study for it.

    dorith,

I am sort of wondering the same thing. I get Becker through my work and I still have until October 2011 on my license so they'll give me 2011 for AUD for free (well $20 for the textbook), and I am wondering if I should just rely on that and also get one of the multiple choice packages from somewhere (Gleim or Wiley)…. I am not sure what is enough and what is overkill, but this is my last test and it crushed my soul to fail, so I reeeeeaaally want a 75 and want to make sure that I do whatever I need to do to get it….

Thanks for the tip wishfulthinking! Worried about all those other parts I have to take next year, too, though. I probably won't be able to get to all of them before the later part of 2011 . . .

Sorry about that 74. I know it's hard to be so close. I bet you'll pass on the next try!

@Curse AUD – I am just going to use the 2011 Becker stuff and just work tons of MCQ for practice once I get through all the homework & supplemental MCQ twice. I plan on also practicing the Tasked Based Sims a bunch too. Oh and don't forget the Final Exam 1 & 2 in the software. I am just going to probably do a bunch of overkill trying to study….but do what makes you more comfortable. We will get it!

dorith, Jeff's recommendation is to make sure to get FAR and AUD out of the way in the first 2 windows since the changes in the others aren't as likely to be as dificult. That's totally doable. Good luck to you!

thanks wishfulthinking… I'll get through this. It just blows my mind that I passed FAR and REG both first try, and failed BEC and AUD…. probably too comfy because I wasn't as scared of them. Bleh! Now, I just need to wait for my new Becker to get here… when I ordered the product update stuff it said 3-5 business days for a confirmation, and another 10-15 days for delivery!!! I need to figure something out in the mean time, to get going.

@Curse AUD, If I were you, I'd start reviewing the 2010 material until the 2011 material got there. We are in the same boat pretty much. I have AUD & BEC left and I feel like I slacked a little on AUD b/c I thought “Hey, I passed REG & FAR and those are tough! I can pass the other 2 easy!” LOL Guess I should've treated AUD like I did the other 2 that I passed and studied harder. I ordered my 2011 material for BEC back in the end of November and went ahead and got updated AUD stuff just in case…Sure glad I did. It took almost 2 weeks to get everything.

I plan on taking AUD around Jan 10 & then BEC around Feb 26. Good luck to you!
