    “A compilation of financial statements expected to be used by third parties is an example of attest work”

    why is it an attest, not compilation? I totally don’t understand.]

    Please help.

    I thought a compilation came under Acct. & Review Services – not Attestation. Am I missing something here?

    Compilations and reviews both are under SSARS for private companies (on unaudited fs). Reviews for public companies (on interim fs) fall under SAS/ PCAOB.

    Also, isn't an attestation a type of service?
