Post-Exam Stress: Passed or Failed AUD? Help!

I took AUD on 11/27 with a lot less preparation than other sections. MCQ was alright – I don’t feel like I aced it but I did “okay.” Easy 1st testlet, more difficult 2nd testlet, difficult 3rd testlet. As an aside, when researching in the SIMS I found an answer to one of the MCQs I struggled with – turns out I guessed the wrong answer :(.

The simulations are really what’s bothering me. One WC was so bizzare and out there that I struggled to eek out a somewhat relevant answer in form of a Memo (I hope that one was a throw-away). The research tabs on both sims were pretty easy.

I found myself struggling with the other parts of the simulation. I didn’t think to use the research tab to answer some of these – even though I used that to answer the WC (stupid me for not putting two and two together), and now that I – just 5 minutes ago, on a whim – researched some of the sim questions on the AICPA website only to find that I selected quite a few wrong choices, I want to kick myself for not using the research tab during sim portion exam to greater ends. On the whole, aside from the WC and Research tabs, I’m banking on some 50% right choices in the sims.

    Ugh.

It’s not like I “deserve” to pass, seeing as I didn’t study as much (new job and life in general). But – I’m just hoping for a 75. I heard that AUD has a harsher “curve” in that people find it easier to pass, so I don’t know if I will be saved from failing due to some mistakes (like FAR or REG, for instance).

Anyone took AUD in particular, looked up answers later to find that they did some work wrong (like me) and ended up with a 75 and above? Thanks…I feel really sad right now :(.

my advice to you is not to stress about it. just wait it out until the scores are released. its nothing you can do now, you cant go back and change any answers. I too took AUD on 11/27 and I stressed about it up until the exam day and also ALL day after the exam then I said I have to let it go. And I think we may have received the same WC, I swear I had to read the memo requirements about 50 times and I had no clue how to start the answer, or even how to research it. I ended up just jotting down some words but I really dont think I answered it correctly, it was THAT bizarre!! I also used the research tab for some of the other simulations but it didnt always help, it was only one tab that i was able to use the research function on for the entire answer, so eventhough you didnt use it, it wasnt going to totally help you figure out the right answers. As far as your MCQ, seems like your testlets got more difficult so thats a good sign. I honestly dont feel as if mine got more difficult, i did tend to mark more for review, but I didnt think the question was more difficult, it just was that I had to take time to recall the material from my studies. So that really makes me nervous!! eeks. BUt like I said, at this point we have to let go and just wait it out.

Goodluck on a passing score for your last part. I am only 2 passed (FAR and REG) and HOPING I passed AUD.

I struggled in the 2 simulations when I took Auditing exam last August and if you feel that you did good in MCQ's then I am pretty sure that you pass the exam. I was really worried because I got 2 weird sims that would be like a FAR sims rather than Auditing simulations and to top it all I got a very hard WC and research. However, I am really confident in my MCQ's that is why I passed the exam.

    BEC 2/8/10 - 75 (studied hard & prayed less)
REG 5/15/10 - 88 (studied less but prayed hard)
AUDITING 8/9/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard)
FAR 11/30/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard) Thanks GOD! I'm DONE

well if you want to feel better, I am learning a new job because of layoffs at work. Was supposed to leave work at 3:30 yesterday to take AUD and at 3:20 my boss started hitting me with “emergencies”. I was starting to get frazzled and he actually told me I may as well not go because I was probably good for nothing as stressed out as I was. But I went, in tears, overwhelmed and frustrated………and finished the exam in 1 hr 43 min.

Yeah, I'll be taking it again.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

    @ suzzette1,

I had a similar experience. I feel good about the MCQs but the SIMS looked more like FAR sims. Just hoping I did good enough on the MCQs to pass!

    FAR - 79
    BEC - 84
    AUD - 89
    REG - 02/05

I do the same exact thing. Remember the problems you took guesses on then look for answer after and stress out when u discover your guess was wrong. And say to yourself “shoot I knew I should've picked the other one.” From my experience this kind of stress/regretful behavior usually lasts three days. Are u still stressing?

You passed. I've never heard of someone averaging a 92 on three parts and failing the fourth.

cpawait, look at all ur other scores, all above 80s! I am sure u will pass, but not me.

I did my AUD on Nov 20th, for a few MCQ I know i did them wrong cuz i checked the book afterwards. My sims were tricky too, but i guess i messed up as well.

So far i have not passed a single exam, i dunno if i can make it for AUD.

I only studied 2 weeks for AUD, full time. Does anyone think it is enough time to ace it with a 75?
