I have used Becker CPA review for all exams. I feel Becker does a great job on preparing me for the exams where numbers and equations are involved due to Becker consistently throwing out harder questions than the exam.

For some reason, AUD is not working for me. I have now taken it twice and failed with a 73 and then a 70. I am taking it again in 2 weeks and need some advice. I bought another71 additional MCQ, but would like to hear what this community has to say.

I'm in the same boat, but mine is FAR. I just received my first fail with FAR with a 72, but was also using Becker which I thought did really well for the other three. I am supplementing with Ninja MCQ this time as well, and hopefully those will push us both over the hump to become CPA's. I suggest doing as many MCQ's as possible and understanding why you got something right and ESPECIALLY the one's you got wrong by writing them down and learning from your mistakes.

@csquilly – I assume you have gone through all of the material thoroughly given that you clearly know how to pass these exams. My piece of advice to you is to tackle groups of questions on the progress exams. For example, select A1 and A2 and do 10 questions. Read the solutions and memorize why the correct answer is correct and why the wrong ones are wrong.

Sometimes you can do a “testlet” of 30 using all of the chapters, this will give you between 3 and 7 questions on each chapter depending on their importance, and will simulate the exam for you. Again, read through the solutions. I felt shitty after going through the AUD material and HW, but I did this method for 2 weeks everyday leading up to the exam and scored an 85 on my first attempt.

It will feel repetitive but I realized on exam day that it really hammered home the important concepts which allowed me to make educated guesses on questions I was unsure about

Can't offer any advice here as I am trying to not be in your boat so wanting to follow this thread. All I have left is AUD also and have passed the others on the first go just using Becker.

cs, I used Becker as well and had some issues with this section. I actually enjoy audit and did well at it at school. However, when I did the Becker course, there was a greater focus on non-issuers and very trickily worded questions. It was not until I bought Final Review did everything sink in. Mike Brown (Final Review Instructor) is a far better instructor than Tim Gearty. Mike is an actual auditor who is also great at explaining concepts concisely, where as Tim has a law background.

I would highly suggest getting the Final Review and supplementing with NINJA questions (seems you have done this). After studying for 6 weeks, I finally “got it” with Mike Brown. The Final Review will take you about 6 days, so factor that into your final 2 weeks.

I am in the exact same boat as you. I've taken it three times already with a 68, 74(!!!), and most recently a 72. I, too, bought the ninja questions this time around. I thought I could get away with redoing Becker, but yet here I am today. I honestly thought I failed this time because of MCQs and that I nailed the Sims, but I got my report in the mail today and had weaker on Sims, so I'm kind of at a loss, but I guess I'll continue hammering the questions since it's pretty much all encompassing. Sorry I can't offer you much advice as I need it myself, but I give you all my support!

YJP said it best it all comes down to repetion and just familiarty with the style of questions they ask. I just recently graduated college so my work experience is very limited so AUD was the test that I was most worried about so I took a 30 question pretest from Becker at least 3 times a week just to make sure all the information was staying fresh. Go back and forth between the test banks and just keep at it.

Did you receive your score breakdown yet? What section of the test are you scoring lowest? MCQ or Simulations? Pinpoint your weakness and crush it.

AUD was actually my lowest score and I felt the most confident coming out of the test. Ended up with a 77. Aced the MC but bombed the sims. Thankfully crunching MCQ questions all day helped, but barely squeaked by.

I'm in the same boat – I am using Becker and last November I scored a 74 on AUD and re-took it in May after I took and passed FAR in Q1. I found out at the beginning of the month I scored another 74, I am feeling overwhelmed and not motivated for my next exam (I have BEC scheduled next month) let alone motivated to study yet AGAIN for AUD. It is really difficult because I feel like I have exhausted my Becker resources and I dont feel like AUD is difficult (not rocket science for goodness sake!!). I think I will also purchase the Ninja MCQs and start making flashcards for AUD. Sounds like @YJP has some good ideas, I will give those a try too 🙂

Aud was also the only exam I did not pass on the first try too. I used becker and becker final review. 2nd time around I did the same thing as last time but added ninja mcq and took notes on topics I knew i was weak on. Also during the becker final review, i skipped the lectures. I focused on ninja mcq during the final review but also did a few questions now and then during the normal becker course. I ended up with 929 questions attempted with 938 not seen trending at 80% (avg 78) going into the exam. Good Luck!
