AnonymousInactiveWell, I got my score yesterday, and to my pleasant surprise I scored a 99 on audit! I am not one to gloat, but I am really curious– does this happen often?

AnonymousInactiveIsn't there always a 99 each time scores are released? I thought you were graded relative to how the other people do that you are testing with…sort of like a curve. So then the best score each time would become a 99? I am probably wrong about this…
I am not getting cocky, though! I am even more motivated now because I am significantly less intimidated by the exam since I know I can beat it! I am hitting FAR hard..probably doing 150+ MC per day plus reading. I'ver got 25 days till I take it.

AnonymousInactiveTia, I didn't see your question earlier, sorry. Anyway, I approached FAR like I approached all my tests. I listened to the lecture of the chapter first. Then, I went back page by page through that chapter and made flash cards on anything that possibly could be tested, everything from the major concepts to small details that I thought were important. From there, I learned those flashcards until I knew them inside and out although the actual making of the flashcards helped instill most of them into my memory in the first place. Once I got the flashcards down, I started the chapter's homework. My process of learning the material before starting the homework definitely paid off as most chapters I was able to score between 80s (FAR) and 90s (BEC and REG) on the first try. I would do this until I got through all of the chapters and then I would do a final review of everything before I took the test including redoing problems. My final review for BEC and Reg were about 2 days, and my final review for FAR was about 5 days.

I probably can't offer you any advice on Audit since you're cranking them out faster and with better scores than I did.
Your study plan is bulletproof, so if you have enough time to keep applying it to your remaining sections, we'll see you on the Watts Sells list.
You know what you're doing. Just keep doing it.
FAR: (2/29/12) - 93
BEC: (4/5/12) - 93
REG: (5/30/12) - 87
AUD: (7/5/12) - 99Used Becker Self-Study

I used Becker to study AUD as well, and I agree that A1 and A2 do include a lot of memorization, but A3 and A4 are the most important sections and are much more logic/reason based. The statistical section of A5 is refreshing if you like math, but the rest of A5 is similar to A1 and A2. Finally, A6 is a mixed bag which I found to be quite easy.
Even though A1 and A2 involve a lot of memorization, the report formats and contents do make quite a bit of sense if you think about it. Understanding the nature and extent of audits, compilations, reviews, etc. leads to a better understanding of what has to be included in the subsequent reports.

AnonymousInactiveSounds like you did well! It looks like you're really in position for the Watts Sells award if you keep things up!

AnonymousInactivewhy the f would you come to a forum on the internet and boast to a bunch of strangers about a fake high score?
that's so pathetic and sad

AnonymousInactiveHmm, normally I really wouldn't call this kind of thing into question. I mean, I've known people to score a 99, so it's certainly not unheard of in the CPA realm. Had Jeff not asked him to send his score, I probably never would have second-guessed it. However, given his unwillingness to send a snapshot of something that could easily be redacted if he chooses raises suspicion in my book. Hey, I guess whatever helps people sleep at night. Maybe the perceived respect of his unknown peers makes him happy. OR, maybe he really did score a 99…in which case, kudos.

jeffKeymasterI probably wouldn't have thought twice about it but there had just been a discussion about someone scoring a 99 after worrying if they had even passed and I thought someone was just being a smart alec.
I asked them to send a simple screen shot that takes 3 seconds to do and they refused.
No biggie…moving on.

jcw1503MemberSince he made a 99 Audit he should know one of the main audit sayings “Trust but Verify”. So he shouldn't be surprised..Just saying
