One last AUD scoring question

One more grading question…oh who am I kidding this will not stop until 2/3! 😀

I know that I did well on the MC questions for Auditing on Wednesday. As I mentioned in another thread, I didn’t notice an uptick in difficulty per-se but I also didn’t differentiate between questions in Wiley or CPAExcel that were easy, difficult or medium. To me the questions were familiar and the concepts very comfortable. So I have reason to believe that I did well on the MC questions.

I went home and reproduced all the SIMS questions (within reason). Here’s what I came up with (none of this will help anyone figure out any questions so I am safe):

Sim 1: Depends. Four questions with two columns of answers each. If each cell (intersection of column and row is its own answer) 7 of 8 correct. If each row is its own answer (you have to get both answers on the row correct for credit) 3 of 4 correct.

Sim 2: (research sim) After research, I believe I got it right.

Sim 3: Completely correct. Whether each cell was counted as its own answer or each row constituted a question, I was 100% correct on this one.

Sim 4: Difficult sim but tested the same exact concept as sim 7 in the same format (this was the easier of the two). I have no idea how I did, it was hard. Let’s assume 50%.

    Sim 5: correct 6 out of 7 answers—flubbed one.

Sim 6: Guessing 60-70% based on what I can remember of my answers. There were five questions with four columns for a total of 20 possible right answers. But I am not sure if each cell is its own answer with its own points or each row must be correct.

Sim 7: Spawn of Satan 666. Tested the same concept as Sim4 but the facts were outrageously hard on a very complex topic. Hope for 50% and even moreso hoping that this is the pre-test question.

Based on these facts….with a very good score on MC would the sims be enough (I know everyone is guessing, but I am curious) to get me by—also assuming they don’t throw out the sims I did well on? I’m trying to decipher the archaic grading model…found the Ark of the Covenant but still haven’t found whether I would get through this auditing monster.

    Thanks,

    CPAPending

Hi @CPAPending I think it's great how much you care about your performance, but honestly, you should try to forget all about AUD and focus on your next exam…there is no use in trying to guess how we did because even when we think we did good, there is still a possibility of failing and viceversa. On my previous AUD attempt, I was so sure I had passed that I didn't even consider the possiblity of a failing score and what happened? I find out that I scored a 74 and I was devasted… I learned my lesson in not trying to guess my performance and just move on…it is what it is! Let's keep the hope up =D

    I CAN'T FORGET…..IT'S CONSUMING MY MIND! 😀

I just don't see how I couldn't earn enough points to pass….I just don't see it.

I just figured someone with experience might have an idea.

Grrrrr…why can't the CPA exam grade it immediately like the EA exam!?1

Lol dont let it distract you from studying for your NeXT test… There is nothing we can do about it at this point…. Just prepare yourself for anything, remember its just an exam, u can retake it and it will not be the end of the world (although it may seem like it for awhile lol) i am just amazed at how much u remember… I blank out the test as soon as i walk out of prometric lol
