I hear audit is Beckers strong point, and I am glad about that. I also have the wiley test bank for all four parts. Im not sure if I have enough time to utilize the test bank though since I only have 19-20 days total from start to finish.

What should I really focus on? Becker/Test Bank? Doing MCQ’s? Reading?

Audit was not my strong point in college, maybe because my teacher wasn’t very interesting.. the stuff doesn’t seem hard at all.. but I could be wrong..

    Thank you guys!

It only gets worse haha. It doesn't help me either that this is my last exam… I am almost to the point where I'm thinking that watching the lectures is a waste of time, but at this point, I only have 2 lectures left and I don't want to change how I've been studying as it's worked so far.

Yeah.. what I usually do is watch the lectures once, do the MCQ using the book. When I do that, I read the small section it involves, and I usually end up reading the majority of the book this way. I then go back (if I have time) and re-read or do many progress tests.. But 19 days and counting….

I just realized that watching the lecuture was a waste of time… it took me about 4-5 hours since I kept stopping and goofing off because Tim is so boring, for me to finish the A1 lecture. I am getting quiet a few questions wrong. Had I read the chapter, I would be fine…

Not sure if I should read the chapter, or watch the lecture, then read the chapter.. or what…

For A1 and A2, you pretty much need to memorize what you're told to memorize to be able to do well on those homeworks

Seems like I am getting quiet the majority wrong.. I usually narrow it down to two. Too many questions!!! At least I am learning from the answers.

The way I prepped for the exam was watching the lectures as much as it pained me to hear Tim's voice and I did the MCQ. When it comes down to deciding between two answers, I always fell back on the objectives of the engagement and chose the answer that more closely aligned with the objectives. When I did my MCQ I did them without the book and when I missed something, or wasn't sure about why I got a question right, I read the summary at the bottom.

The truth of prepping for the CPA exam though, is to do what works best for you. A friend of mine reads the book and doesn't do the MCQ and she has passed every section she has taken. I do the MCQ but don't read the book and I've passed every section I've taken. It's different for everyone. You know what works best for you so just do that and try to stay relaxed as you study.

I feel like this is going to be a recurring theme for you. Wait till you get to FAR though. You will not know hell until then 😀

The 1st time I did the MC for transaction cycles I got 60%. 2nd time 75%. By the end, I scored about 90%. But that's because I hammered those MC so many times, I pretty much remembered the answers. I think AUD is one of the sections where you can learn it by doing so many MC as long as you know why you got the answer wrong. I went through all 3 testlets in 70 minutes and spend 2.5 hours on sims. That research tool is so damn important for answering all the sims. More so than FAR or REG.

@dualmatrix – Thank you very much!! It seems every time I study for a section I think its the worst, then I move on to the next section. Very nice score on BEC! I felt like I guessed on everything. :-/ .. I opened the FAR book, and I don't think I am going to mind studying for it. I think I like calculations much better then theory type questions. I also liked intermediate accounting!

Now that I had a goodnights sleep, I really understand A1 much better. If I get something wrong, its because of small details, and I learn from it, and read that section in the book. It really helps. I just hope I can do the MCQ's multiple times since I only have 18 days left. Im trying to do 1 chapter every 1-2 days.

@jrstory – I agree, everyone is different. I think I'm a mix between you and your friend. I do MCQ's but also read the book. That helps me pick up little details here and there.

I'm in my final review for Audit and got an 80 on Becker's Final Exam 1 so I'm pretty content with that, however before my exam I plan on redoing all the MCQ's twice. 6 days to go.
