I am finding very little motivation to start my Audit studying. I begin reading through the questions, and I am reminded of how much I do not care for reading, much less trying to actually remember what I am reading. I am waiting for my REG score to hopefully come tomorrow, so that is another big reason why I am not motivated to study. Please give some great advice for someone who does not care to read too much.

    F - 79 5/31/13
    R - 68 07/12/13 Retake 88! 10/18/13
    B - 78 08/31/13
    A - 64 01/03/14 Retake 75! 5/23/14 I would rather have a 75 than a 99 any day!

I feel your pain. Preparing for audit was like reading a giant handbook. My brain works much better with numbers and computations. For audit, I did MCQs and researched the answers. That way, I would read a page or two of material to learn about the topic. It broke the material into digestible pieces when I didn't feel like reading so much. If I still got the question wrong, I wrote down the question and answer to create a giant set of notes that covered my weak spots.

You've got plenty of time to study. You're probably just burned out, something that happens to most of us at some point. I'd say take the rest of the week + weekend off, get your REG score (hopefully a pass!), and then hopefully the time off and knowing that AUD will be your final section will get you motivated once again.

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)

@W-Hamilton – Thanks, that sounds like a great idea.

@auslaf – I wish my attention span would permit that.

Right now, it feels like most of this information is going in one ear and out the other. I give a lot of credit to you A&A people, I will stick to tax.

While I have plenty of motivation to pass and I scored over 80% on MCQs with Wiley TB, I just HATE the material and I'm still doubting the level of preparation I have for this exam after reading everyone's exam experience…. I just hope I get a 75…. only 4 days left and the fact that I have a fever isn't helping…..

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

@Tough_Kitty–I'm right there with you. I have a terrible head cold and I feel very unprepared for my 11/13 retake with AUD. The reports are killing me. I cannot find a good way to remember when to issue which report and all the different attestation services, etc. Frustrated, but trying to push through.

    @steph
–maybe just listening to the lectures would help you so you don't have to read as much?? Just to get you started.

Yeah. The theory seems to be easy but when you do MCQ and they give you specific scenarios, it gets so confusing!!!

Let's hope we pass! I'm hoping I can use AL for SIMS and I wouldn't mind having FAR topics on SIMS…

    REG: 83 (August 2013)

Someone posted a few days ago on another thread that they used the AL for EVERY SIM and were able to find the answer verbatim for at least 20 of the “fill in the blanks”. I hope that works for us too!

Hey there, what I did to avoid reading the whole book was to do MCQs, as much as I can before I started reading or watching videos. Then, I summarized the questions that I always did wrong or I felt so confused even I read the answers. Then, I went back to read book and watch videos. Also, Ninja notes worked for me! It is not as giant as the book so I didn't feel very difficult to go through it.

    AUD-73, 73, 73, 79!!
    BEC-77!
    FAR-60, 83!
    REG-66, 72, 75!
