    Hello All,

Im a recent college grad. and I just began studying for the CPA exam. I decided to take a stab at Auditing first, as I hear it is the easiest. I figured it would be a great way to get the ball rolling. I am using Yaegar as my source of review material. Any advice or suggestions?

Start with FAR, the hardest. Be a man.

I'm not sure how much time you have committed to AUD but you may want to rethink taking the easiest first. As soon as you pass one exam, the 18 month clock is ticking to pass the other 3. If one is going to give you trouble and take multiple attempts to pass (I took one exam twice and one three times) you risk losing credit for the one you passed in the beginning.

    Just a thought.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

A particular exam that may be the easiest for one person may not be the easiest for another person, case in point, look at me. I passed FAR first time but failed audit 4 times. During all this, I failed BEC once, then passed it and failed REG once. I have now also lost my FAR credit.

You need to go for whatever you feel may be the most challenging for you I think because like the other posters said. It may take you a while and cause you to run your 18 month window down.

I know everyone's experiences are different based on the luck of the draw but the AUD exam I saw was 50% more difficult than any other section. I would rank them in order of “easyness” FAR, REG, AUD (haven't seen BEC yet).

Aside from that, though, is that there is FAR information on AUD and REG, I don't mean a passing mention, I mean straight up FAR sims. I had two on AUD. I didn't get one on REG, but many people did. I took AUD first and I really regretted not listening to the people on this board who told me to stop where I was and do FAR first. I thought I was too far in. I feel certain it would have given me a higher score, which doesn't matter since I passed anyway, but if you're on the border it could mean the difference between a pass and a retake.

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

Ok now Im a bit more intimidated. Might I ask, what material did you all use to review?

The experience is different for everyone. Pick a review course, and get started. I heard BEC was the easiest exam and I had to take it four times. Audit wasn't bad for me. In fact, I've had to pass it twice because I lost credit. You can look for advice, but sometimes it's better just to jump in and figure out what's best for you. One thing I will caution you on is the 18 month window comes and goes very quickly, so once you start testing, you have to be fully committed. You don't want to be in my boat having to pass exams more than once because you lose credit.

    Good luck to you!

    FAR - 79 (2x)
    AUD - 81 (expired), 77!
    REG - 74! omg (3x) 87!!!!!!! I'm done! OMG!
    BEC - 81 (4x)

there is no easiest.. so i have no idea why people keep saying that.. the goal is to learn the material too not just pass the exams.. doesnt matter where you start.. just be consistant in your study method for all of them.. FAR isnt “harder” just has more material thats all.. everyone has their own opinion.. but if you think AUD clicks better for you then def start with AUD and get your confidence level up. good luck

    BEC - Passed
    REG - 7/21/2012
    AUD - 8/18/2012
    FAR - 11/10/2012

I started testing in May..I went BEC, FAR, REG, AUD

Im waiting on my AUD score…after taking them all im not sure what is the best way to go..I dont really think it matters…I definitely felt more comfortable taking the last two but I think that was just because I had been studying for so long and was more comfortable with the format and the whole exam experience..>GOOD LUCK 🙂
