    hey guys,

    I am 7 days out till I duke it out with Audit (3rd time). So, today I did the released AICPA mcq’s from 2009, 2010, and 2011..here is what I did:

    80%, 82%, and 72%

    To me, there was a big difference in the questions for 2011–I thought they were much harder than the 2 prior years. I am going to keep pushing the mcq’s till then, but wanted to get input from anyone who passed Audit…or anyone who has done the released q’s. I need HONEST feedback. Tell it like it is…no sugarcoating.

    I just need to pass. My hubby is already in his “I am so lonely, where is my wife mode?” and he hasn’t even seen the 12 hour study days. I honestly think if I don’t pass, he will ask me to stop. In the last two weeks, I have had friends ask me, “why don’t you just take a break?” or here is the killer, “maybe this wasn’t your path?” I have been at this 14 months ( I wish it wasn’t so long, but things could be worse!) and almost all my friends(I think) think I am never going to do it.

    So, if you can be honest–it would be a big help!

    Thanks for your help!

    P.S. Audit, you are definitely a spawn of the devil 😉

    Tell them to shove it up there @$$es….I hate anyone that can't lift another person up to their greatest potential.

    Seriously the only thing that helped me with Audit was doing the questions over and over and over again. I never tried the AICPA released questions. I practiced with Gleim. I think you can download a trial version of Gleim's MCQs and use that. I recommended it to another candidate and she passed this last time and thinks it had to do with doing their questions. Good luck!!!

    PS….BEC is the spawn of the devil for me….I believe it's AUD's little pesky brother that won't leave me alone!

    REG-80, 77, 77
    BEC-67, 68, 71, 67, 71, 74, 71, 74, 72, 77
    FAR- 72, 65,67, 53, 75 (truth be known the 53 was with 4 hours of studying)
    AUD-58, 62, 72, 74, 74, 75
    took 5 years but I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Here's how to do it. Don't think, “I just want to pass.” Start thinking, “I want to try to aim for a 99 as best as I can.” Sure, it may be impossible and a bit stressful, but your chances of passing increases.

    I would say that the real exam is just as hard as the AICPA released questions. I do agree that the older exam questions seemed easier and the newer ones were harder. My exam was a mix of both. Some questions were 2009/2010 easy while some were 2011 hard.

    To to understand the concept and keep drilling them as you do more and more MCQs. Best of luck!! You can go this!!

    For AUD, I thought the AICPA released questions were a huge help. It helps you understand how they ask their particular questions, etc. I would continue to review them

    BEC- 76 (08/10)- PASS
    AUD- 85 (11/10)- PASS
    REG- 71 (02/11), 81 (04/11)- PASS
    FAR- 73 (05/11), 74 (08/11), 79 (11/11)- PASS

    I'm sorry if this is a stupid question…but, where do you find the AICPA released questions? Thanks!

    no question is ever stupid unless it's on the CPA Exam…ha ha ha ha. I know Becker posts them on their website.

    @keeptrying

    LOL–you are right BEC and AUD are probably twins! I agree with you, I don't know why people don't encourage each other, it also seems difficult for women to do that sometimes. I had one friend recently ask me, why I was doing “this”. I felt like I was in an interview, trying to get the job! I sounded like it was my first interview too–even though I am 48. I told my friend, ” I like numbers” how lame is that? I am clueless. Don't know why it has to be this way. Anyway, I tried to change things up a bit and try to look for new ways to study. Which led me to the AICPA q's. I am just concerned that I didn't score higher. Is it enough? I could be rich if I had a nickel every time I said that. I am sure everyone on the forum can say that too! Thanks for the pep talk!!

    @cpaman,

    Glad to know that you used the AICPA q's also. I think the wording on the 2011 mcq really trip me up. I guess that is why I haven't been able to get past it. I think what can be so difficult about this exam, is trying to find a gauge, milestone, or some kind of apples to apples comparison to help guide us in getting to the finish line. I will be honest, I thought I would have done better on the AICPA q's. It was disappointing to me, and I needed to know what other people thought. The friends and hubby are well, they are just noise to me. Albeit, irritating, I am trying to tune them out. I can't allow myself to listen to them. I am going to keep drilling for that 99! Thanks so much.

    @rshaf

    You are right, I am going to go back and review them, and probably focus on the 2011. Thanks for your help!

    Back to the books! And best of luck to us all this window!!!!!!!
