    Hey all,

So I got my AUD scores back from November and ended up getting a 74. https://bit.ly/1iQnbZy

That was my third time taking Audit. Scores so far have been 72, 62, 74, respectively. I haven’t gotten my detailed results yet, but the trend has been incredibly weak simulations and pretty strong MCQs (reports are have “above average” / my Becker progress tests and Wiley Test Bank scores generally range from high 80s to low 90s).

I sit for REG in early January and plan on doing a hardcore, 3-week grind before retaking audit, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice for the audit simulations. Like I said, I have Becker and Wiley Test Bank, but for some reason there is still something I’m not getting / am letting split through the cracks (the first thing that comes to mind are the questions regarding journal entries or more quantitatively based audit material…)

    Much appreciated.

Sounds like SIMs are keeping you down. If I were you, I would practice researching the AL before your next retake. I was able to find nearly all of the answers I needed for SIMs in the AL. Even when I failed AUD with a 73, I scored stronger on SIMs and weaker on all MCQs. That means I didn't know enough of the material, but was still score well on SIMs using the AL.

    REG - 89
    FAR - 84
    AUD - 73, 86
    BEC - 89

What is your approach when t comes to using AL for the sims? I always try to but don't seem to have much luck. Re taking audit as well and definitely need more help on the SIMs

    AUD - 5/30/14

i'm also curious on a good approach / some tips. I definitely try and use the AL to answer questions, generally searching keywords and reading through the documentation.

and for the most part I really feel like I found the right answer (or at least close to the right answer)…but obviously it hasn't worked out.

I was able to increase my audit score by 16 points. Here is what I did for my retake, maybe it will help. I use Becker and skipped the videos and just read thru and took notes, did this with FAR too. Go thru all the McQ, after each section. After going thru all of the chapters including doing the sims in each chapter I make flash cards. I borrow a friends flash cards from Becker and use them and my notes to make my own, study those every nite for a week. Each night I do 60-90 McQ progress tests. Also, for the sims especially I would write out like 5-10 pages of notes from the sims and study that. Like the assertions and things like that, really helped. Take both final exams, very important to do that. During the exam I never use the al, it never helped me even when I tried. Hope this helps!

    FAR 66 (07/01/13), 75! (10/01/13)
    AUD 64 (08/12/13), 80! (11/23/13)
    BEC 84! (05/22/14)
    REG 77! (08/28/14)
    DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@adidias slogan, the key to using the AL for the non-research SIMs is just identifying the keyword(s) or phrase(s) that leads you to the correct section of the reference material. Easier said than done, I know. However, I think a good way to improve or familiarize yourself with the AL and the search functionality would be to go through SIMs on WTB or Becker (?) and practice searching keywords to help correctly solve the SIMs.
