Hello! I will be taking Audit on 11/21/12 (3rd time taking it). I’ve passed FAR & REG, waiting on BEC (10/15/12). My FAR expires on 1/13/13 and I am scareddd cause I do not want to lose that credit.

I still have to go over sampling, compilations & reviews. I’m currently using Roger’s Cram Online Course, Wiley’s TestBank as well as Ninja Notes & Audio. I’ve read mix feelings about AUD and how you can feel confident leaving the test center, but end up not scoring well. Are there any tips that you would recommend?? Any specific area(s) that I should heavily focus on? I appreciate any help I can get!!

    Thanks in advance!!

    General Tips for aud:

-Review format, and modifications, of all standard reports (memorization isn't really necessary..but knowing them helps)

-Know differences between Report, Compilation, and Audit by heart

-Understand how to use the research function (if you can find your research questions quick your good). Not only the research questions, but regularly with AUD sims you can find answers to questions buried in the literature.

Roxwella – any tips on where to go to find a good research tool? I'm using CPA excel and their tool is just too easy. I find things within seconds and I know it isn't like that on the exam. I thought I would be fine for REG but was scrambling on the research question because I wasn't used to actually having to search.

I am a student member of the AICPA and I use their database or the internet to practice research. I have become very familliar with authoritative literature and I think this will be a big help to me on my Nov 29th exam. I don't think the research questions are that tough on the exam and most people only get one, so don't stress too much.

    FAR Passed 5/28/14
    AUD Passed 1/22/13
    BEC Passed 7/12/13
    REG Passed 5/9/14
Virginia CPA license issued July 2014

You have to sign up, but first six months are free.

Also, please note that I wasn't just referring to the sims that ask you to research for an answer. Im referring to most audit sims. The literature has all standard reports (word for word), as well as all procedures and practices, and everything else you studied for aud. If you know how to use it, you can answer most of the sims with very limited previous knowledge. Its really just a matter of time. You can sit there and research for hours….or find the answer in a snap.

Focus on the method of finding the information you need. Become comfortable with your process. Dominate the sims!!!
