I just finished taking AUD and I felt really good on certain parts and not so good on others. I can truely say that Becker prepared me well for AUD, I dont feel as if there was anything surprising on the exam, its just that on some parts I had a hard time retaining the information. I would say that the 2010 AICPA released questions helped as well. I would suggest anyone taking AUD in the next few days to look over those questions. One of the parts that tripped me up was the 2nd WC….i had no clue what they were asking of me to write. I never felt so stumped on a question before. The other parts of the SIMS were pretty straight forward and what I didnt remember, I was able to use the research tab to look up. Here’s hoping for a passing score!! I kept saying….3 down 1 to go during the exam. I passed REG and FAR and im hoping i passed AUD. I plan to sit for BEC January 2011.

Thanks for posting your feedback on Auditing. I'm scheduled to take my exam on Monday and I'm also using Becker to prepare. I've heard good things about Becker prep materials for this section. 🙂 I've been reviewing the passmaster questions over and over again. In the past, I usually on study the notes but I thought I would take a different approach with this one. I'll take another look at the Auditing released questions as well. Appreciate the tips.

I also took AUD today too. I don't know but I feel the same way about it as detroitcpahopeful felt. I thought the MCQs were straightforward. I determined how hard the testlets were by making note of how many questions I had to Mark For Review. I marked 2 questions for review in the 1st testlet, marked 4 for the 2nd and 3rd. I really think Becker did a great job of prepping you for this section since I practically saw the exact worded questions from PassMaster on the actual exam.

I think the first sim that I got was straightforward (it covered the standard audit report for a client that prepared fin statements on the cash basis of accounting (OCBOA)). The second one was kinda tricky (it covered determining what kind of risk would increase/decrease: inherent, control, and detection).

I don't really know how to feel about AUD because I don't want to feel this way and when scores come out, I feel like crap. I really hope I got this because I put in a lot of time and effort studying for this section.

I just got back from taking my audit test. The first testlet was pretty easy and progressively got more difficult. The third testlet there were a few I had to mark for review. What was nice was one of my sims related to reports which I was able to refer to the research tab. Fingers crossed….and the waiting begins once again.

I took Audit today as well. Not too sure how to feel about it. But it wasnt terrible. 10 more minutes would have helped me because I had to kind of rush the last simulation.

Question: When can we expect the results to be posted?

I heard from Jeff's previous videos that the results might be released sometime before X-Mas. But who knows?

wow looks like alot of us took AUD on saturday and that we all came out with similar feelings. I guess we just have to play the waiting game now. Another thing, I never felt pressed for time, I finished with 30 minutes remaining and that is even after going at a very slow pace on the SIMS. However that also game me time to second guess some of my initial responses. I heard that only one of the WC are graded, so I hope my 2nd one is NOT graded. 🙂

@greencpa…goodluck on the exam on Monday! Sounds like you have been preparing really well for it. I can honestly say with becker you can get 100% of the MCs.;….its just a matter of retaining the info. On some parts I would kick myself because I remembered going over the material but I could not recall the exact answer.

@dcpa…i heard that we should get the scores by xmas.

@detroitcpahopeful, hkboi and nolifecpa thanks for the replies hopefully it would make a good Christmas present for me.

It was the first ever CPA exam I took yesterday and I was pacing my self giving 1 hour for each MC testlet with a review and hoping to give 45 mins each for the SIMS. But I fell short with time when I came to SIMS, not too much just a tad bit giving me about 40 for each. I guess I could have gone through the MCs faster but I didnt want to rush. Anyway I completed the whole thing before the time ran out of me.

Anyhow are both SIMS grades or is it only just one of them?

I just got back also the first tablet was straight forward marked 4-5 then the second one… Was hard *EDIT* I marked like 13 but got it down to 3 and the last one about 9 where marked. It felt like FAR but the writing and some sims were easy. And thanks to this site I found out they gave the formulas I freaked out on my sims till I dug around and found them because I remembered someone here saying they were there. But now….. we wait dum dum dum!!!!!!!!

i took AUD on wednesday and felt very good about the material. I feel like perhaps I overstudied for this exam, but I hope I don't have an unpleasant surprise waiting for me when I check my grades. I thought my first and second testlets were pretty easy and in the third I had a couple marked for review but that is really it. I felt pretty good about the multiple choice. The two sims weren't bad either. I actually finished with 1 hour and 15 minutes remaining :-x. Hoping for the best!

I just took AUD today and it was my first time taking any part of the CPA exam so I was quite nervous. Just as others have said Becker really prepares you for the AUD. I saw some of the same exact questions from Becker on the exam. Imagine my shock and relief knowing that I got that one right LOL. The testlets seemed to progress in diffuculty but if you spend a lot of time studying it should be pretty straightforward. I didn't put in as much time studying as I should have so we'll see how I did. One sim was easier than the other. The research tab really helped with the easy sim but the with the 2nd sim it didn't help as much. The communication tab was so bizarre to me. I wonder where they come up with the questions. Now nothing to do but wait until December so I guess I'll spend time on here and start focusing on the next subject.

I took the AUD exam today. I have to say Becker prepared me well, I wish I had done the Becker PMQ more than once. I couldn't tell if my exam got harder, all 3 testlets seem somewhat similar and there are always two choices looks to be right and I just had to pick one. How do you define if the question got harder? more lenghtly? I am really nervous even after I took the exam.. now I just have to wait… may be I should pick up the book again and study this more just to be ready if I have to take it again… oh well. I based the testlest difficulty on how many I had to mark for review. I had to mark more for review in testlest 2 and even more in testlest 3. That doesn't necessarily mean each testlest was more difficult. I just may not have remembered as much in the other testlets so to me they were got harder.lol

I took AUD this morning and of course left feeling brain dead. I used CPAExcel and supplemented with Wiley MC questions. I would say 35% of the questions came directly from previously studied material. I finsished all three testlets in two hours which gave me 2 1/2 hours for simulations. This helped immensley because I was able to support my essay directly from the research tab. Plus, I know I got both research citations correct. I felt a little better leaving AUD than I did REG which I just found out I got a 74 last week.

How much time do you think is necessary to retake REG? I'm thinking about four weeks to brush up on my weak areas to gain that extra point.
