Well guys,

I survived the AUD section, and I feel pretty confident that I passed (. . . looking around for lightning bolt to strike at any moment – lol!). This is my second section. I took FAR back on 7/10, and I’m anxiously waiting for my score on that one, of which I feel much less certain about passing.

I used Becker’s study materials. This section focuses much more heavily on theory than the FAR section, as you all know. Working on gaining a true understanding of the concepts versus memorization really helped me a lot. Yes, some aspects are memorization, like the reports, standards, etc., but in the auditing field, there are plenty of contexts in which judgment must be applied, and just having a good solid understanding was really helpful.

I finished the exam with an hour and a half to spare. What a great feeling compared to FAR, a.k.a. “the beast”! Man, I can’t wait to find out my score. Did I tell you that I can’t wait to find out my score?

For the AUD section, I watched all of the Becker videos, completed all of the multiple choice questions twice (at least three times for the missed questions), and I also read each chapter at least twice. I printed out Becker’s condensed notes for each unit and used that for help in reviewing the week before the exam. I really appreciated the flashcards too, but I didn’t purchase Becker’s final review program.

Well, just wanted to share. Hope all is going well for everyone else with the studying . . . onward!

Thanks Jan for the post,

I am taking AUD tomorrow, also took FAR in July. Can't wait for my score!! I'm not as prepared for AUD as I was with FAR so I'm freaking out. And I only read the chapters once and did the homeworks once 🙁 I'm an optimist but a realist so I really hope I passed FAR cuz AUD is just not gonna happen for me unless I get super easy questions lol

good luck big shot – i have to pick up my pace, the test is just a week away! I bought gleim's MCQs on top of Becker material, and have yet to start those…it's going to be a busy week! im just looking forward a to a nice couple days of rest…until REG starts (ugh).

I take my exam on the 27th and I am starting to panic, I have only went through Ch. 3 using Becker (doing all the MC, but I have not touched the simulations). I am hoping to finish off the last 2 chapters this week and then have a week to review, but I have only put in 34 hours so far, I have got to get on the ball. I have family coming in this week and my cousins (whom I watch) start school on Friday, so I am trying to cram in as much time with them as possible too and I work part time, but I took off next week to get the last few days before the test off for review. Any suggestions on what I should focus on the most?

joohj – Keep working hard. I marvel at how you're able to squeeze in time for more questions beyond the Becker stuff. I have not purchased the final review materials, in part because I can't imagine having the time to do that on top of the regular stuff.

CPA Someday – I see you took REG already. That's my next bugger.

Ness – If you don't feel prepared, why not reschedule your exam date? The tests are too difficult to pass when not prepared. It will relieve some stress and give you more time to balance everything going on for you right now.

Thanks Jan, that's it, exam in a few hours. I will update on how I failed, just kidding (i really hope for a tiny chance). My boyfriend saw me posting here a while ago and now he makes fun of me and calls me ‘big shot' but hey i like the name! 🙂
