I’m using Becker for AUD and was doing well when I started. However, everything has gone downhill after chapter 2 and I’m doing horrible on the MQCs. I tried to go back and reread, but I’m just getting frustrated. I have zero audit experience and most of this is like a foreign language. When I didn’t understand the questions for the other sections, I could at least reason my way through them. When I try to reason through these questions, I still get the question wrong.

Maybe I’m just having a bad night, but can anyone offer some advice? Any memorization tricks? I’m really frustrated.

I don't have any audit experience and I passed. The best thing that happened to me was the discovery of ninja notes. The ninja notes for audit is fantastic. I read the book(nothing made sense) and then started out hammering MCQ's. I was still struggling, but then bought the ninja notes. Everything started to come together about 2 weeks before the exam.

where do you have troubles with? can you be a little bit more specific? remember try to get a big picture of audit. don't get lost in the details. Becker book is well written but it contains many details information and i know sometimes it is confusing to read thru the text. plz be more specific! we will help you to get thru the troublesome areas!

Dont worry at all.. once u are done with first review and start doing ur second review.. u will feel a lot better…. I hv just started my second review.. n way to better…Even i dnt have any audit experience.

One advice i can give u is to make detail notes while going through the first review… dont worry if u are not getting gud points on the MCQs.. jst try to understand the reasoning…. I try to even go over the answer keys of the MCQs to find out why lets see b, c,A is not an option….tht way i get to knows the logic behind the topic….

also incase u are not understanding few topics here and ther dnt worry abt it at all….. thts normal…. just make detail notes.. since doing so it wil help u understand the material more when u do ur second review..

For few topcs i m also using online help such as youtube, AICPA.org website…..

I havent passed yet so maybe my opinion is worthless but ninja notes really helped get the basics down. From there just hammer out the finer points with the mcqs and main readings. Audit is tricky because a lot of it you just have to drill and the concept will come with time. I thought the mcqs are a lot trickier because they use a lit of double negative and will through it answers that sound like they could be correct. Once you get the big picture everything else falls in line.

I'm reading all these other posts on AUD and how people still can't pass after 3x. It's making me nervous!
