I failed AUD by 5 points and I hate myself like hell. Wasting my entire summer just to fail….

I started studying BEC a few weeks ago and am in chapter 4, I plan to take it October 1.

When should I retake AUD? I start work October 8 and am feeling like pure sh*t

    🙁

David..Relax my friend. I have spend good 18 months trying to pass these exams. Sacrificed a lot, summers, winters, thanskgivings, you name it.

I cannot dictate your schedule , whether it pertains to studying a section or which section to take in which order. You decide whats the best way to tackle, ultimately you will need to pass all 4 parts.

70 is not bad, just put in some time and will be able to cross the line…

    Goodluck.

Well David, I can one up you. I just failed audit with a 74. One f'in point from passing. Does THAT make you feel better? Seriously, I'd rather have gotten a 70 as a failing score than a 74. ARRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHH!!!!!! SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!

@David can you schedule AUD for the last test day in November? As you know people on here pass all the time while working.

@notagain I failed AUD the first time with a 74 so I know exactly how you feel but I just got my passing score today so the feeling I have today wipes away the feeling of failing with a 74.

@David, ‘m assuming you just graduated and you seem like you're in a similar situation with me. I've spent the entire summer studying since I graduated in May and am 0 for 2 so far…with FAR up next. I start work September 24th.

I was crushed when I didn't pass audit because I felt pretty good about it and I felt it was my strongest area. Keep your head up and keep grinding.

    FAR - (8/2012) 87
    BEC - (11/2012) 86
    REG - 73 (retake July 2013)
    AUD - 71 (retake April 2013)

Thanks Destiny…I'm just beyond frustrated right now. A 74 is the absolute LAST failing score I'd “want” to get.

@not again, Im not happy you failed man. If I had it my way, we would all pass.

@destiny, Im going to take BEC in a week (gonna be the worst week of my entire life considering I suck at Cost and am only finishing chapter 4 today) I will plan to take AUD October 1. I will crush it next time with all of my fury.

@Jking, yea I graduated in May and start work in October and wanted initially to have 2 exams passed by then. With a lot of luck and hard work I might still be able to.

Good luck to all of you guys. This garbage sucks but we can do it

David dont feel bad dude, I failed both Reg and Far before I passed my first part. It sounds like we are in the exact same situation, I recently graduated and I begin work in October as well. Ive spent my whole summer studying for this beast and I was hoping to get it all done before work, but thats not gonna happen. I just found out I passed BEC and Id recommend studying Coso and IT the most. Best of luck, dont get too down on yourself.

@RedMer, Thanks and I hope you do well for the rest of your parts!

Was there a lot of cost/computation on your exam and in terms of Coso, is that chapter 1 material thats very similar to AUD in a sense?

Keep your head up. I'm 28 and just passed my first part. I've failed both REG and FAR more than once. My first test ever was in summer of 2008. But today I feel awesome, I finally proved I'm not f'ing stupid (because honestly, that's how it makes you feel soemtimes), and I feel just damn good and proud of myself. When you pass, you realize – I did that all by myself, that's pretty awesome.

That ‘panic mode' studying you go into about a week to 10 days before the exam…. where you fill every possible free hour with studying… yeah, you have to be in that mode for about 4+ solid weeks if you want to pass the first time. That's my theory.

If this is your very first try, I wouldn't get too down on yourself. Yes, a 70 is failing but it's not a 50 either! (I got a 70 when I sat for REG a few months ago). Re-study your materials, supplement with some new stuff if you can afford to get new study items/materials.

Good luck on BEC – that's what I'm taking next! So far, it's ok…. but 170 MCQs in Bisk on economic theory? Barf.com

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

I had mostly theory questions I feel like, but the computational questions I feel like becker does a very good job preparing you for them. The becker computational questions make the questions on the CPA look like a joke for BEC. So if you know how to do them in Becker you should be fine.
