ISA questions on AUD

    I am going through Becker for AUD right now and there are a lot of blurbs about ISA and how it differs from GAAS. Are there going to be a lot of questions on the exam that test you on the differences like with FAR and IFRS and GAAP?

    I'm not sure anyone could really answer that in light of disclosure rules.

    It would make sense that you should know International vs US differences, however.

    I was just asking because Becker seems to put a lot of emphasis on IFRS and not so much for ISA which made me think that it is something that is not really a part of the exam.

    I think maybe part of that reason is because IFRS and GAAP are still in the process of convergence, whereas GAAS took a big step in converging with ISA with the new reporting model and standards that became testable in July. I just memorized the differences that Gearty mentioned in the lecture, and I felt adequately prepared. Sorry, I can't disclose more than that.

    Thanks for the clarification. They seem to gloss over most of the blurbs so I was not sure if I should even bother looking at them.
