Has anybody done the Bisk sim 25-4 and 25-5 involving Tick Marks and Procedures? I have the 2011 version of the Bisk Auditing book and I found that these two sims just do not make any sense to me? Should I be worried about these symbols and what they represent?

    Thanks

I am using BISK as well and have been wondering the same thing. I'm assuming if i worked as an auditor I'd understand it though but I've never worked in audit so… The text doesn't even say much about them, just the definition of what they are. Does anyone know if knowing ticks is that important? Do other review courses cover the subject?

I've got Bisk and I've taken AUD. My advice is skip all sims. I don't think it's a failing in the product, just that there's no way really to study for them. I did ALL the sims in AUD and didn't see a single thing like them on my exam. For FAR I skipped sims entirely and it didn't hurt me. If you want to contact me offline about Bisk specific questions, my email is in my profile.

Also, I recommend if you have the complete series, you read the Accountants Responsibilities chapter in REG before you sit for AUD. I had quite a number of questions on my AUD exam that didn't show up anywhere in the material, and I'm just now running across them in REG.

Also, if your state requires the AICPA ethics course, I recommend doing it right before you sit for AUD. It'll take about 6 hours and covers a lot of stuff that AUD covers.
