Is it too early to say that I failed? Or should I start studying for AUD again?

Today I took AUD. Everything was good until I started the exam. It was much harder than I thought. I red-flagged about 1/3 of questions in the 1st testlet, and about 4 questions in each of the 2nd and 3rd testlet. So it is obvious that 2nd and 3rd testlets are much easier than the 1st one; and that is not a good sign. SIMs were challenging, but I got two research questions. I believe this is also a bad sign. I think I failed.

When will I be able to see the advisory score? And when can I take AUD again?

I also applied for REG in the same test window, which I will take 4 months later. Should I start studying for REG or continue studying for AUD?

    AUD 97
    REG 95
    BEC 91
    FAR 97

It is almost impossible to predict your scores with the pre-test questions in there. I would recommend waiting for your score before starting to study AUD again. Your score should be out in the second wave. Not sure when that is but it is on Jeff's score release info. You can't take the same test in the same testing window, so the earliest you could retake it is October. Hopefully, you will be rewarded with a passing score and won't need to re-take AUD. This waiting on scores is the pits though!

That's a hard one to know. I was sure I failed my last exam and I passed (barely.)

You will get your score around August 22nd. Your first opportunity to retake will be in the next testing window starting October 1st. It will depend on what your testing timeline is and how flexible you feel about it. I suppose you could start studying for REG right away and when you receive your score make a decision.

One question though? You say that you are studying to take REG 4 months from now? That is a long time to study for one section. For REG something like 6 weeks sounds more reasonable. There is a major short term memory component to these exams as I'm sure you found out.

It seems like you could start REG now and take it at the beginning of October. Then IF you did not pass AUD you could study for that again in October & November and take it at the end of November?

Anyway, best of luck. Hopefully all your worry is for nothing.

Thank you for answering my questions and being so nice!

I will start school soon (Graduate courses) and I am also working part time, so I won't have much time to study. Moreover, I had to start applying for full time job and preparing for interviews since Fall semester is the time all those big accounting firms (including big 4) come to recruit. So I decided to give myself 4 months to study.

My current NTS expires on 1/13/2013, can I apply for a new NTS for AUD now? (Why do I have to be so negative)

I left my 3rd AUD exam convinced I failed and started to study again that very night! I was all set to apply for yet another NTS when I got my best score ever! It's been my personal experience that the worse I think I did, the better my score was. Hoping it's the same for you!

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!

Oh and to answer your question you can't apply for a new NTS until 48 hours after your score is released. Even though it's not fun, it is entirely possible to study while in school & working full time. That's what I did, and I've got 2 kids as well! Good luck to you!

@starly- It all depends. How did you feel with the question? Did you completely guess a lot of them? Or were they just hard that you weren't 100% sure with your answers? If it's the latter, then there is a chance you passed.

And I had two research questions in my AUD exam and didn't fail. So, that's not a bad sign. That just means that one of them is probably pretest.

act as if you passed AUD and start studying for REG. If you did not pass AUD (which sounds like you did pass) you can't even reapply until the end of August. Since you are starting school and a full time job, why waste three weeks? Study for REG now and take it at the beginning of October. (If you really work your butt off you could take it at the very end of August but I do not recommend it.)

this exam is a head game – you can think you completely bombed a test and still get a 75. Just move on!

    I passed in 2012!

    BEC - PASSED - I'M DONE!!!
    AUD - PASSED (finally!!)
REG - PASSED (Twice - lost credit first time)
    FAR - PASSED!
