I gave myself one month to study for AUD, now I’m second guessing it….

How many hours per week should I be putting into studying for this ?

Any advice helps. Thank you in advance !

The problem with comparing yourself to others is that everyone comprehends at different paces and everyone's study habits are different. For one person a month is more than enough, and for another a month is not even close to enough. Only you can assess how much you think you know and how you feel right now going into it.

Definitely possible if you aren't working, and dedicate 12 hours a day to studying. For audit the review is the most critical part of studying. I'd say you need at least2 weeks of review. If you got through the material and were able to review for 2 weeks I think you'll have a chance to pass.

A month is plenty of time, but I was stay away from excessive drinking and stuff like that. I'm doing REG right now with just a month and it's scheduled for July 26th. Obviously for July 4th I'm going to have fun, but if you make sure you keep a schedule and stick to it you should be fine. I have 2 chapters to do per week so I figured I only need 3 days per chapter which gives me an extra day every week to start the next chapter. I've added a few review days now by doing this.

I would say 3 hours a day is all you need. I have Becker so I watch the lectures. The next day I read chapters and the day after I do MCQs. No sims.

It depends if you have any work experience in auditing and how familiar you are with the material. I have no work experience and only took 2 auditing classes in school. I studied about 170 hours over 8 weeks and got a 73. I honestly feel that luck plays a big part on whether or not you pass, unless you're in the minority of very intelligent people who pass all sections with high scores.

I was lucky enough to barely pass FAR thanks to sims on topics I was stronger in. For AUD, I had a couple sims that were brutal, which most likely caused me to fail. These exams require you to know so much information that it's really tough to try and know everything equally. You just have to hope that come exam day, your test has topics that play more to your strengths.

Total in 4 weeks = 112hrs

That's enough for you to pass the exam if you have the right study method.

It is possible but you need to find a pace/method that works for you as others have said.

If this is your first section I would advise against trying to do it in a month many people i know underprepared for their first section with a lot more time to study.

I studied for AUD in a month, but I'm also not working at the moment. I gave myself 2 1/2 weeks to get through the material, then 1 1/2 weeks for review. I didn't really set ‘hours' as my parameters, instead I used sections to track my progress as I knew different sections would take various amount of hours.

For me, I absorb information better the second time around which is why I gave myself a few more days for review. Take notice of what works for you and adjust accordingly 🙂

I wouldnt take a day off from studying ever.

I passed all my parts in 2 months and got the grades I got so if I studied a little harder in half the time I could see myself getting like a 77.

I did mine in 5 weeks, and started studying immediately after tax season ended last year. I never took days off in my studies.

Yes it's possible. I spent two weeks on AUD and passed on first try. I read each of the twenty Gleim chapters in about 8 hours. 900 MCQs with Gleim in 29 hours. Focused on weaknesses and did only review sessions. Not an auditor but dealt with audits in industry. Like @Titleistg0lfer said, everyone comprehends differently. Also, other than the books, I did all MCQs on my phone.
