I am taking my third section which is Audit and it really seems to me like this section is deceptively difficult. Other sections had more straight forward questions but this section really tries to trick you in every way possible.

Idk if it is the hardest, but it is by far the least interesting material IMO. Therefore, I think it's the hardest to study for.

It's not just you. Personally, I believe that FAR was the most difficult, but it's a close tie. It seems to be very wordy and not as much logic seems to apply. I passed AUD once before and lost my credit, however, I don't recall it being as challenging as it is for me right now. Although, we can nail this exam. Hang in there.

I think hardest really depends on each person. For me personally it was the hardest!

Easiest section for me, by far. AUD and BEC are much more abstract and conceptual, REG and FAR are more logical and concrete. It just depends on the person and how they think/learn.

My scores indicate that I would think AUD is the hardest. The problem with AUD is exposure. I have been out of school for almost 20 years, and in my military and finance career I have experience with parts of the other 3 exams, but not much with AUD

AUD is boring and the questions are wordy. I felt like I studied much more for my retake than the 3 points indicate. I believe the SIMS saved me. Don't blow them off, they are easy points!

Yes, audit is an extremely tricky troll. Exam questions were really difficult! I thought it was the second hardest exam.

REG - 65, 70, 80!
BEC - 35, 62, 79!
AUD - 73, 75!
FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

Audit is the most difficult for me but FAR has the most material you need to study for.

I think since a lot of people work in audit and if the CPA is “curved” non-audit people have an especially difficult time.

It seems like people either score really high in audit or they do really poorly. I haven't seen too much middle ground compared to the other portions of the exam.

I always felt it was the most difficult as it seems like a LOT of material on one college course.

ie: BEC combines all sorts of different college courses, econ, mgmt, finance, etc… AUD is just one

I HATED AUD so hard. I walked out of my test literally not knowing AT ALL how I did. I would not have been surprised at any score that would've displayed on the screen when I checked it. I think I flagged about 25 questions out of the first 3 testlets. Those were b/c I didn't know them 100% so best bet was that I was 50/50 on them. SIMs are my strongest area but damn they were tricky. Two research SIMs. One was moderate and the other was ridic. And I know I can't be specific here but think about the hardest topic for FAR – had an AUD SIM on it.

@YOURMOMSACPA even on the AICPA website they have a FAR related SIM which is not that simple. But anyways glad to see you scored an 84 even though you felt it was so difficult.

I thought auditing was really easy, but i have been auditing for a number of years. BEC and REG on the other hand were/are hard and boring. FAR was long, but i generally enjoyed the subject matter.

I just took audit on Friday, and this was the first one where I felt like the actual exam questions were harder than the practice questions. Becker said that the exam would focus on actual auditing procedures, but I only got 2 questions out of 90 on that and no sims on it. The focus of the exam instead seemed to be mostly on really specific things like governmental auditing standards.

Hopefully we'll see good results next Thursday.

AUD is peculiar. Not only is it a very difficult exam (typically being someone's lowest score), but out of the 4 exams, it seems to be the “easiest” to score a 99 on. I think it's just one of those topics that if it doesn't just ‘click' for you, it's hard, but if you ‘get it', you can really post a high score.

For me AUD and BEC were way better to prepare for than REG and FAR.. I think FAR is the most difficult esp due to Govt Acting..
