so i noticed the pass rates for aud are the lowest of any section; however studying for aud doesnt seem as bad but i havent taken aud yet. so is the exam really harder or do just ppl underestimate it (ie they work in audit so they dont study enough)

I think the issue that some people have with audit, which I didn't seem to have a problem with, is really having to understand the material rather than memorize because there are so many different angles a question can come from. Transaction cycles can get tricky and understanding what an audit test is truly testing for can get lost in wording where it seems that every answer is correct. For example, what is the main assertion(s) that cash confirmations test? There are so many tempting answers to this: existence or occurrence, accuracy, valuation and allocation, rights and obligations, completeness.

Having to understand the basis of the concepts seems to be what gets people in trouble.
