Is 800 MCQs enough?

If I can score 99% on 800 MCQs (all that my materials came with), is that enough? Can I consider myself ready? Or should it be more like 2,000 questions? Some would say I have “memorized” the answers, but I do understand why the answers are right and can remember them.

Edited: I’m sorry I posted this in FAR. Don’t know how that happened. This is for AUD but I don’t see a way to move it.

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

That's kind of where I am, markiux88. I summarized all the lectures and the book information in a format that is easiest and most logical for me, 40 pages of typed notes, and I have those pages memorized. I think I'm ready, but I'm afraid my book/materials may not have covered some topics that I'll see on the exam.

That sounds pretty awesome Katie. Have you tried going to cpareviewforfree and do some of their questions? Their questions tend to be more difficult than the actual exam and are not the same as what is included in review materials.

    @katie

WOW! Question for you: is the 800 your accumulated mcq's that you have done during your study, or is this 800 what you have done in the last week of review and have scored 99%. I am just curious, it doesn't matter either way, but I think that is amazing either way. If you scored 99% on your first swipe of the homework that is fab, if it was your review–still fab.

I think I remember you saying that you are not working–how many hours a day do you study?

I think using a different testbank is always good as a supplement. It gets really easy to memorize the questions. I would agree with Kandis and try cpareviewforfree (the questions are tough! but good practice) and then there is Wiley testbank, and then you could use a free trial with Gleim. I think Gleim's testbank is tough, I used it for BEC. Many of the review programs give some free testbank access, maybe hopping around on them might give you a good array of material. Have you done the sample test on the AICPA's site?

Best of luck on the 28th–seems like you are ready to ace it!!!

HA! No, definitely not 99% on my first pass. I wish.

I set up custom tests that covered each chapter, and I can answer all of those right, and have just done them in this past week. I also set up custom random exams to mix up the questions (because you can get used to the order they're in, or you know you're in the ICFR chapter, so you look for answers that contain that). I even have one exam that is every question in the software.

I probably study 12 hours a day. I literally don't do anything but sleep, go to the bathroom, and study. Well…. I do make coffee a lot and occasionally will eat something when I think about it. This exam is a fantastic diet plan.

I will check out cpareviewforfree. If their questions are more difficult, maybe it'll tell me where I'm weak. I was saving Gleim for BEC cuz you guys have me super freaked out about it.

I previously wasn't able to access the sample test on the AICPA website, it kept sending me back to an intro page, but it seems to be fine now, so I'm going to go do that one.

@Mark – Are you saying you are taking an actual CPA exam tonight, or that you are taking a practice exam tonight?

Wow Katie, I wish I was in the same boat as you! It sounds like you just need to keep up the review until your test (wouldn't want to have your studies get erased from your memory)

    AUD 74, 88! 04/02/12
    BEC 75! 08/30/12
    FAR 68, 73, 83! 10/27/12
    REG 80! 11/24/12

    DONE!!!
