What approach does everyone take for studying the International Standards on Auditing vs US standards? Becker has several info boxes but I’m not seeing much in the way of questions.

    FAR - 84
    BEC - 89
    AUD - 93
    REG - 87

I was just about to ask this same question! I'm only memorizing the boxes they mention in lecture and ignoring the other ones. Hopefully that's enough?

Know the required differences in the audit report. Which is basically that international standards require the auditor to give a location. There used to be other differences in the body of the report, but the clarification project got rid of most of those.

Also you'll need to know who issues international standards.

    F-81
    B-81
    R-75
A-waiting...failed twice third time's the charm right?

The clarified standards require a location in the report, so that difference has also been eliminated.

I used the Wiley books last (and successful) try with Audit. I just made note when they mentioned any differences and I believe that was sufficient. Also, NINJA notes helped a great deal too.

CA CPA - All because of the journey listed below
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    FAR - 53('10), 8/25/12 79 PASSED!
    REG - 66('11), 69('12), 12/06/12 77 PASSED!!
    BEC - 58('10), 74('12), 01/05/13 77 PASSED!!!
    AUD - 43('11), 66('12), 69('13), 74('13) 7/29/13 85 PASSED!!!!!

Look at IASs like IFRSs they are much more flexible. Clarity and PCAOB very strict and know your report formats, and audit stages for different standards. There are slight differences that you have to look out for.

@ JTS254 I just memorized what Gearty mentioned in his lectures. I see most of it in the post above, though, so might as well just use that as a study guide.
