    so if an auditor found a material weakness in internal control, he should communicate that to those charged with governance. Then what? Does the auditor need to update the audit report?

    If it's an integrated audit or audit of an issuer, it will be an adverse opinion. If he wasn't engaged to audit internal control, then it's only communication to those charged with governance. From what I understand:)
