I’m taking auditing Wednesday and used CPAexcel to go through all the material. I have been doing a final review for a couple days with Wiley test bank and have an average of 70%. I’ve maintained that 70% for the 400 questions I’ve done so far. It doesn’t seem like I’m improving so I’m trying to take notes to better understand it. I’m afraid I’m doing a repeat of my first FAR exam. With that test, I used WTB and was struggling to maintain in the 60s. I didn’t really understand the material like I should, rather I was just trying to memorize the concepts as I went through the questions. The second time through with FAR I used only Ninja MCQ and did much better, averaging 70 trending 86. However, I feel like buying Ninja would be useless four days out and plan on getting through the other 700 or so multiple choice left in the test bank. I need help better understanding the material. My biggest problem area is the types of tests (i.e. test of controls, test of details, analytical tests, substantive tests, and sampling). I am not good at deciding which of these should be utilized for the type of situation the question gives me. Is there a flowchart somewhere of the different steps within an audit including all these details?

I really want to pass AUD my first time around because I’m trying to finish these exams by August if at all possible because that’s when I transition from being a full-time student to a full-time worker. Please, any help or advice you can give me would be wonderful.

Keep using only Wiley Test Bank. Get RogerCram and he describes everything perfect. Listening to a section in his cram course and then do the applicable MCQ in WTB for that section and you'll notice a huge boost in what you are scoring.

i was trending in the 50's in the parts you mentioned.. I only really understood the parts related to corporate governance and SOX.

just stay calm and keep a clear head when you go into the test.

Shoot for 70% average and above. 90% and above on trending. Learn from your mistakes and write them down. Read them before the test and you will knock this out with no problem

    Thanks, everyone 🙂
    I really appreciate everyone's advice!

EZ…I'm kind of the same way. I am fine on most parts like the types of reports, different opinions and what they mean, SOX, PCAOB. It's just that sampling and evaluating are killing me. But I'm gonna try to stay calm and go in there with the best attitude possible!

brickell…Thank you! I agree that Ninja is awesome! I'm definitely going to be using it on REG and BEC when the time comes which I hope is sooner than later!

Substantive…Thanks for the tips! I'm going to keep those numbers in mind and try to not get down on myself when I suck it up a few questions, which I tend to do. And the cheat sheet of important info is extremely important to me. That's what I did with FAR. I had one page, front and back of notes that I read in the car before going in to test. It really helped and I remember thinking afterward that there was nothing I wish I had studied more or did differently. I'm hoping the same thing will happen with AUD.

Well, I'm off to my first full day of Ninja. Wish me luck! If I start doing horribly I will post on here to complain some more haha. Thanks again everyone!!! 🙂
